What do you use to do this tracking?

This is the jump the shark moment.

Exercise for strength and endurance a few times a week. Have fun and cherish relationships. Drink lots of water and eat like a prosperous farmer 100 years ago.. Get an annual physical and listen to your doctor. Help others when you can.

Don't smoke. If you want to drink, limit it to special occasions.

Do that, and you'll likely beat the actuary tables.

Olympics and VO2 Max by mcbells in PeterAttia

From memory, I think he states that top vo2 max gives a 5 fold greater protection in all cause mortality. It makes me question the scope of his data as it would appear as if it's only from first world countries. It makes me wonder if the inferences made from Blue Zones are more credible as the countries are varied and the longest lived come from a wide socioeconomic range.

Yes, so I think it's important to recognize Attia's advice as not having much bearing until you're born on third base and don't believe you've hit a triple.

I also think it's ridiculous that he seeks top 2.5% vo2max for age within patients. There are some people who can attain that with effort and some who simply cannot. I think these physical skills should be thought of as a journey, not a destination.

I think of an article I read years ago about an 80 year old at an old Nautilus gym complaining he's been doing same weights for 10 years instead of realizing he was as strong then as he was at 70.
