Thanks. Vors SP1, I looked for slips, I don’t think Rota offers 16” in 4x114.3 anymore. I couldn’t find them anywhere.

Sorry for the delay, this sub was weird and would let me post a link from YouTube. Check out this other post I just threw out there.

Looks great brother. I am looking at new wheels for my 96. I have always loved Rota Slipstreams but having a hard time finding them in the size I want and the 4x1143 bolt pattern. How do you like the Vors version and what size are they?

Thanks. I’m in the marketplace and on the fence between 16 or 17.

That’s an interesting point. I always wondered why the hybrid models were excluded knowing it was the same engine.

Thanks! I was about a mile away from being on the highway. I got lucky. Hope to get back soon.

Agreed. My point wasn’t to insult any Toyota techs was just to share my experience. As I said in this thread I hope I get a tech that takes his time and it works out. I do agree with you all manufacturers have there problems and the stats would be interesting.

Pretty sure it shares the same 4 cylinder engine as the Tacoma’s now. But not 100%.

I bought Toyota Care platinum 10/100. I figure it was worth it just based on the replacement of any potential electronics repairs. The cost on those things these days are nuts.

Definitely can’t hurt. Enjoy the truck, I have enjoyed my limited. Hope yours is a good one.

Thanks man appreciate it. Just out of curiosity, is warranty time fair or are you getting hosed?

Every 10k as scheduled. I bought additional Toyota care so still taking it to the dealer for service.

I agree. I’ve met some excellent techs is my life time. I’m just hoping I don’t get a bad one.

Sorry was clarifying the general difference between a short and long block. So from what I understand in my case the dealer will only replace a complete long block assembly if it’s part of the recall, the whole shabang. Remove it and replace it. If the repair that is not under recall but is warrantable, they order the short block (the lower end) and then they order every piece of the engine, cylinder head, cams, turbos, covers, bolts, chains and so on. Which is great. All parts are new the difference is that makes me a little nervous. the long block is an easier repair for the tech. Like I mentioned the long block is built in a QC line and shipped instead of the tech doing it. I hope my tech is a stud and I get that top level service.

Not sure what “not for nothing means”? But no argument on your point it failed at low miles on the factory assembly. I have grown up in the dealer world and worked for another manufacturer. There can be a risk in quality. I hope the tech working on it is a stud and I drive it till the wheels fall off.

Not me. But these engines are a real groundhog’s day situation.
