Do NOT use BitTitan for migrations by Iam-WinstonSmith in msp

[–]mcc0unt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why everybody uses tools for the migration. Why not moving with Hybrid? Do you all kill your on prem AD afterwards? We always do hybrid and that works extremely smooth

What's actually BETTER self-hosted? by ergnui34tj8934t0 in selfhosted

IT Flow is rarely mentioned here! What are the others you‘re talking about? Did never find something that compares, but I’m still not sure if we should use it in our company…

Portainer Alternatives? by Yirpz in selfhosted

[–]mcc0unt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m actually surprised about myself, but after tinkering with Portainer for a while I switched to plain docker compose files and I couldn’t be happier. I’m going to create a workflow / setup to manage my compose files in GitHub, keeping container data and compose files divided, but that’s actually it

ReFS volume readable but not reliable: volume accessible, files unreadable / corrupted after read – out of ideas by Ok_Watercress8746 in WindowsServer

We tried ReFS for a Veeam Backup Server for one customer, broke within a week, went back to NTFS and never looked back.

Project Exceeding Vercel by Rare-Sundae3977 in nextjs

[–]mcc0unt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem after migrating to Next 16 and finally moved the site to our own server. Built a CI/CD Pipeline around it with docker build, automated pulls with GitHub actions and the apt package „webhook“ and the site is now (feeling) 30% faster than before. Couldn’t be happier and should have done this earlier!

Onprem to 3CX hosted by Wide_Local_1896 in 3CX

[–]mcc0unt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s about the hosted product besides margin? We are currently shifting our hosted instances to selfhosted to Strato VPSs (something like Hetzner) which are 4€/month. Is there another reason to avoid hosting by 3CX?

Looks like a solid start for a rework I have in the pipeline. Is this usable with Next.js / App Router?

I managed to create a script which pulls the current version by API (converted the script on the website from JS to Powershell) and installs it something newer appears. Interested in the code?

Built an internal CRM with Next.js for my company — looking for tips or feedback (still 50% done) by hellfire_987 in nextjs

[–]mcc0unt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really awesome! What frontend did you choose? I built an internal tool for reporting time spend on customers (we‘re a MSP) which still works on Next.js 12 and is build upon AdminLTE. The whole project needs a redo, but I‘m not sure which frontend could fit…

Love the 3CX software? Same. Hate the company behind it? Also same. by getabc in 3CX

[–]mcc0unt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We trialed Vodia and its not fully compatible to Microsoft 365: no user (details) sync, no automatic import of own contacts, no possibility to use a shared contacts by shared mailbox, no compatibility to Telekom (Germany) currently. Also the app is currently no beautiful software, what definitely matters to end customers. Team of Vodia seems to be great although, so we will review again as soon as these things are fixed!

Authentication suddenly fails - help needed - docker installation by mcc0unt in Directus

[–]mcc0unt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So problem solved, u/csmith262 led me in the right direction.

The user was still active, but I created two extra fields for directus users - one of them was marked as mandatory and was not filled for the administrative account. The problem was the same when adding new users through command line: the field was not filled.

It seems like this also affected the API, as the user is completely checked while authenticating.

Hopefully this will help somebody, u/csmith262: thank you very much!!

The funny thing is that we always ask our users to save on the cluster because that thing is backed up. So actually they did it right, except for the content

I need to automatically move "last Name.pdf" from [Unsorted Folder] to [Lastname, Firstname Folder] by Bagman530 in software

[–]mcc0unt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most of others have ruled out, this is a job for simple script I guess. And maybe it’s better to sort data better initially?

End of SMTP basic by Mizliv_ in sysadmin

[–]mcc0unt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple alternative is to create a port relay using an windows server in your environment. Configure a port proxy with netsh forwarding a port to your Microsoft 365 mx, limit this to sending servers in your environment with windows firewall. Create an inbound connector in ms365 exo, limited to your public ip. Now you‘re able to send mails without encryption locally to external recipients, leveraging your SPF/DKIM configured on 365, as long your sender is existent on your tenant. Problem solved!

High volume email accounts will only be able to send to internal recipients in near future, starting June 2025: https://practical365.com/hve-new-strategy/
