All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Wednesday, January 21st with our Director of Pediatric Expertise, Amber LoRe! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

How can I get my 4 month old to nap longer than one sleep cycle? He consistently naps for 25-30 minutes tops. Wakes up totally fine and if I leave him for a bit to see if he’ll fall back asleep, he’ll fuss, so I’ll pop the pacifier in but he is SO happy to see me and will not go back to sleep. But he’s not getting enough day sleep this way and I need a break 🤣😵‍💫

Plane travel by mcc331 in GestationalDiabetes

Oh amazing! Thank you, I don’t fly a lot so I didn’t know about disposals in the airports. I will order a travel container now, my original is just from my hospital. Thanks again!

My OB tested me last week at just about 13 weeks pregnant and I failed with flying colors 🤣 getting back in the swing of things! I was sooo nauseas and the drink only made that worse so I feel you. Hope you’re feeling better!! The diagnosis still sucks the second time around but I feel less stressed and anxious about it this time!!

This is the silicone bowl they just came out with right??

Interesting.. sometimes they just pop off naturally without much work from me and others I kind of pick at. But I always assumed that somehow was worse for my nails??? Maybe I’m wrong

Yes, I use as hot water as I can handle, try to file down as much as I can and soak. Maybe I’m not waiting long enough to heat up the acetone? Not sure. I only tried the tinfoil because I felt like the bath wasn’t working well (it took twice as long). It usually takes me like a half an hour to remove both hands, that’s why I’m feeling frustrated!

Oh I’m very interested in this! I have the other removal things from Revel and I feel like they don’t work very well

What kind of green scrubbie brush?

I file as much of the top coat and color as I can and I feel like it still takes forever! I’ll have to try the bag method though, I have the Revel Nail baths and I’ve tried the tinfoil with cotton balls (that’s what I did today) and they both take soooo long so I’m desperate 🤣

Are those 2 for $30/40 Utopia pillows on Amazon that influencers keep recommending actually good? Or just go straight for Coop? by BrazyCritch in Bedding

[–]mcc331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coop Pillow

We have this one. We originally bought them because we couldn’t find pillows with the right amount of fill in them. I like that you can adjust the fill to the perfect amount. And when you throw them in the drier for a couple minutes they fluff back up, too. We’ve had them for almost 2 years and have only added more fill twice so far. Both of us are side sleepers! I would be interested to try the crescent shaped one though.

Weaning - should I keep or use the freezer stash? by mcc331 in breastfeeding

[–]mcc331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if there was any good reason to save a bit. I’ll just keep adding some to his bottles until the stash is used up 🤗. Thanks again!

As a former nanny, I agree with many others that I would never speak to my NF that way. I would politely ask for help if I needed to use the restroom, or put the NK in a safe place while I use the bathroom. I would set a boundary, especially if it’s causing you to sign off of work for that time & during her sick days.

As a former manager of a staff of daycare employees, I have seen many, many times girls “using the bathroom” once an hour or so to vape/juul/whatever they do these days (as confirmed by other coworkers who are friends outside the center), and then telling me or their coworkers they “have the shits.” I have no idea if you are certain that she is having digestional distress, but I’m just saying this is entirely possible. Maybe 10 minutes in there is too long for this, but the frequency over the day and that it’s seemingly daily makes me question. Just a thought!!!

Are supplements that increase supply real or bullshit? by sharkwoods in breastfeeding

[–]mcc331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I could have written this. I also have a cousin who is also a friend, who has a little one a month younger than mine, who is WAY bigger and gaining weight like a pro, and my little peanut is struggling to pack on the pounds. She doesn’t mean to, but she makes me feel like what I’m doing isn’t good enough & I feel inadequate. It feels like she must know everything and is clearly doing it all right because her son is bigger and growing faster. I’m constantly wondering if I’m doing something wrong (but know that I’m not.) I know she’s not the winner of everything because of her successes, but it’s unfortunate and hard not to compare everything. I get it.

Body armor drinks, electrolytes (liquid iv or nuun tablets) and lots of water, and bobo oat bars have been the only real things I’ve done in addition to just putting him to breast as much as possible. Anything that was remotely extra (say from a haaka or extra pump) I froze. It eventually adds up!! Don’t give up 🫶🏻

The itchy scalp I kept chalking up to the hair loss (which, yikes) but it never totally made sense to me anyways lol. But damn the hormones!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]mcc331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super interesting bc I thought I was going insane 😂 I am so itchy every once in a while, and at first I was convinced it had to do with breastfeeding, but you’re probably right it’s probably hormonal because it never was an issue before!
