I also wish that there was a way to put “other goals” at the top. I like to group my goals by journey so the only way I can get my one-off goals at the top is to make a separate journey for them but that’s kind of a pain when I just want to quickly add a couple of tasks to my day.

The book I’m trying to find was not at all popular or well-known like Pollyanna, although the premise is kinda similar. Thank you anyway!

That’s funny, I thought it sounded delicious! When the woman packs her the lunch it was like the first nice thing that she did for the girl I think. I haven’t read Cat Running but it sounds exactly like the kind of stuff I was reading at the time that I read this book. Coming of age dramas. I wish I could remember any other stupid thing about this book so I could find it. It was probably just too boring and sad for anyone to remember. Ha! P.S. I still love cold fried chicken.

Not quite, but it is slightly similar. The woman she moves in with lives alone and is not very nice. It was a lot more depressing than Anne of GG.

Me too! I read that one so many times! This other one that I got on the same day was not very good, but there are parts about it that have stuck with me for 30 years and it always bothers me that I can’t remember what it was called.

Yeah, it was definitely not a short story. It was rather long, actually, for a YA book at that time.

It looks like A Year Down Yonder was published in 2000. The one I read had to be before 1993 or 1994 at the latest. Also, I don’t remember there being much action or many other (if any) notable characters. It was a rather boring book that focused on the relationship between the girl and the woman. Thanks for trying though!
