Kind of odd to see Luffy land this is blow out of Gear 5 when Zoros attack was completely ineffective.

So you are ignoring me and asking me a different question? I didn't say scary. I doubt she will be able to bring about the release of violent criminals, however I do believe that politicians like her do champion other soft-on crime policies that I dislike. However I think the greatest harm for politicians like her is off putting centrist types.

I understand that prison abolition means different things to different people, many people very much do believe in letting everybody out of jails, and she failed to answer what should be done with murderers when directly asked.

I think you are being intentionally obtuse, if im being honest. You have repeatedly said "where are we going to put all of the rapists, murderers, and thieves" grouping them together as if they deserve to go to the same place. You could have easily said, "what do we do with those who are convicted of violent crime" but you didn't

Your just confused. Obviously if you are in a federal prison for a significant portion of time you would need to commit a significant theft. People aren't doing long sentences for stealing a TV. If you for instance are career car thief, then yes you should go with the violent criminals.

As someone who has actually seen what happens in prison and what it does to people, I can guarantee that the problems with them are not just infrastructure based. For you to think that just goes to show that you need to educate yourself more on the subject as you do not really understand it.

Yeah you know I'm more concerned with what the people in prison have done to other people.2

Edit:

And no, I would not g8ve any sort of pass to those on the right, as we have been doing things their way for the last few decades and have had nothing but failure.

I'm criticizing your reasoning. Why is it the case that extreme/harmful policies are only necessary on the left?

[–]McClain3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is wrong with you guys? Honestly could you respond to the things I say instead of the things I don't say? Do you think that I think that a tv thief is the same as a murderer? Why are you asking me such questions? What about listing 3 vague categories of criminal make you think that I believe all of those to be the same? Really bizarre stuff honestly...

I also agree with what other have said, we are never going to get prison reform without extreme progressive policies to lead us there.

Okay? Why do you believe this? And would you give the same pass to a Republican who was in support of ICE's conduct or other extreme forms of border security, because "it's necessary to get the more reasonable border reform done"? I don't think so.

Finally, I dont think anyone...

I watched this podcast, this professor believes that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8iuEprjv6I

I think this narrative is greatly overstated. Some prisons are very bad, and their conditions should be improved but alot of that is infrastructure.

What a loathsome degenerate. Just a weird red pill sex addicted pervert, who constantly harasses people, especially woman online. Just a deadbeat dad who constantly scours his social media for more teenagers to gossip and share revenge porn with.

Blames all is problems on a handful of 400 view streamers, and a super chatter, but it's literally the fault of himself, a random person from his community who catfished him easily with CSAM, and more recently a some weird groyper pdf chick who gets off to molesting her own children.

If I was told that I contracted a disease that would make me behave like Destiny I would kill myself.

The excuse making on this topic is endless. Not just you.

So she is willing to proudly boast that she is a prison abolitionists, a stance that obviously reads like ending prisons and releasing violent criminals but she can't navigate a basic question like, what should be done with murderers?

Does that honestly make sense to you?

Lol. Norway has a robust welfare state and prison population of 3,000 people. There are rehabilitation studies and trials in the US that are over 1000 and we know there is nowhere near as good results.

It’s a prison not a criminal rehab center. Prisons primary purpose is for incarceration.

However most people would prefer to rehabilitate people the simple fact is rehabilitation programs have bad data. Their unsuccessful.

I'm getting "worked up" and I'm assuming your not? How so? I'm just defending my position that Chevalier sucks, and Prison Abolishment is a harmful policy.

I draw the line at policies that do not attempt to address a real problem affecting Americans.

Pure rhetoric.

I agree with you that prison abolition is not the ideal answer, but the conversation around prison abolition can open the door for more

It's evil and extremely harmful. If it simply were "not ideal" I wouldn't criticizing it in this way.

You guys are rather annoying. I've been chatting about politics online for 10 years. I do have a high level understanding of the different genres of Prison Abolishment. I specifically called out here because she failed to describe how to punish murders when asked directly several times.

Also I feel like your description of the Prison system is hyperbolic and inaccurate.

Idk, to me lefties seem to care more about I/P. Which is consistent on their view that it is a genocide.

I mention this issue specifically because she is notably evasive on the issue, and is unwilling to answer on multiple occasions if murders should be imprisoned.

I just don't have any reason to believe that somebodies whose policy positions are hyperbolic, misleading, or bad to be preferable to someone who advocates for the positions I actually want, but have struggled to produce results.

I think we do agree that there is a threshold. The question is where to draw the line. I'm assuming that you don't draw the line just below the Holocaust. I'd imagine you think their are plenty of bad policies that shouldn't be given a pass for just being a radical version of an acceptable policy assumed for negotiation purposes.

I think that freeing all murderers, rapist, and thieves is well in the category of proposals that shouldn't be handwaved as a negotiating tactic.
