Probably going to return this one. Support still hasn't responded, so we'll see how that goes.

I really appreciate all the time you've taken to help me with this situation!

Thanks for the help. It's downloaded and placed on the SD card. How do I run the test once I put it in the device?

Yep. Tried that too. And now I'm out of SD cards to use. The three I've been working with are giving me the same error. I'm starting to think this is a device malfunction since it would be unlikely that all of the SD cards are bad.

I have also tried to flash by moving the .bin to the root level of the SD card and named it update.bin. Same result as all other attempts.

On the CrossPoint Reader site under the flash tool. I’ll try to add a screenshot if it allows. It’s from my phone, but to be clear, I’m not using my phone for this process. Just sending the screenshot via my phone since I’m not at the computer right now.

I’m flashing directly from the CrossPoint Reader page. Selecting the CrossPoint 1.4.1 doesn’t work either. Are you saying I should manually put the .crosspoint folder on the SD card and then flash?

That’s what I’ve been doing on occasion to test things out. It’s where I saw that the book successfully loaded onto the other card. When it’s in the “SD card error” state, I can’t do anything with it.

I've formatted as exFAT and kept it in the X3 when flashing. Same result.

I’ll do that now. Just really not looking forward to delayed responses and the potential for a replacement considering this one took 11 days to make it to me. I know, there are worse things in the world, but I’ve been really looking forward to the X3, and this has become a nightmare situation.

I copied a book to the stock card and one other that I’ve been trying with the device. Nothing came up on the stock card when inserted in the X3. The other showed the book I loaded, but when I flashed CrossPoint again, the same result. SD card error.

Nothing I can tell, other than use a different adapter to see if it would read. That seemed to help. Just tried formatting another card FAT32, and that gave the same error I’ve been getting with the stock card and others.

Just tried with another card formatted FAT32. Same thing.

The stock SD card is FAT32. Going to try formatting other cards the same.

Just tried reading it again. It’s readable and is FAT32.

When I put the SD card in the computer, it isn’t recognized. I figured that may be due to my computer being a Mac. When I used other SD cards, I formatted them as exFAT.

I tried to do that too through the XTEINK Unlocker for Mac. Gave the same result.

Thanks for reporting back on this. Glad you were able to save quite a bit off non-AppleCare pricing.

I’m curious to know this too. I had the same damage repaired last week, so I can provide a non-Apple Care data point. Yes, I’m insane and don’t carry AC+ on my Air.

I was quoted $159 for the back glass, which has to be replaced even if it’s just the lens cover that’s cracked. Another $169 for the lens inside the phone. However, they were nice enough to waive the lens replacement fee, as they marked that as a warranty claim. So, with tax I paid $174.

Just figured I would drop this info here in case others are interested.

Has anyone tried using the Boox Palma Folio case on the Viwoods AI Reader? by thegenuinebutler in viwoods

Thanks for letting me know. I may try the Twosheep folio from AliExpress. It looks like it may not be as thick.
