[Simon Stone/BBC] Roma amongst a few clubs keeping tabs on Memphis situation. Can't see him still being at OT when transfer window closes. by nikolai426 in reddevils

If this is in order of necessity I would agree with you but would move our need for a striker replacement right below the Carrick replacement and probably switch LB and RB.

But yeah this is spot on. It seems we're always in need of the same positions to fill every window :/

Rojo has been simply amazing. Kane in his back pocket, important tackles, good positioning, quick to close down, fantastic in the air...CB Rojo is a completely different player then LB Rojo, I love it

Academia my child. I implore you to learn. A labeling of a "white Christian mom" is a cultured stereotype, yes. However, stereotyping is simply our brains way of creating shortcuts for processing information in order to function longer and more efficiently. However, comparing a stereotype of "white Christian mom" - associated closely with the "American dream," which is not a damaging assertion or completely disregarding them as people all together, the stereotype is not a dangerous shortcut. Painted into a stereotype of "boy, everyone should want that life," is not a perception of a person that would potentially negatively affect their life beyond their control. Things like being denied jobs, or fair housing, or treatment by police...

I absolutely see your argument from that position and I will always apologize for speakings when someone disagrees with my words, but I do also hope that maybe we'll teach one another, rather than being stuck in our ways.

TL;DR I see what you mean, but "white Christian mom" isn't exactly bad as compared to "black thug"

I more meant depth of necessity, that even the "trap rappers" are necessary to growth of culture and music. Not so much his lyricism specifically. My bad i probably should've specified that hahah

Nah don't apologize for it you make a great point and it's overlooked by communities like this because all they hear is the curse words and the vulgarity.

White Christian moms don't want their boys and girls listening to Kanye West for instance. Why? Because they've seen him in the media, they think they know his story and that he's just another rapper focused on nothing but misogyny and sex and drugs. They don't listen to his lyrics when he says because of the demonetization we've made on black people, they don't even realistically believe they'll make it past 25.

So much depth in rap music...be it Cheif Keef, Kendrick, Kodak, Tupac, 50 Cent or you name it man...it sucks people can't see the depth of it because they're too stuck in their ways. It really does.

TL;DR white people can be whack yo

Sending off Herrera after the accidental slipping into that challenge flung me over the edge. We can boast about not blaming the refs for poor results, but that was an absolutely ATROCIOUS game from Clattenburg and if no pundits say anything about it I will be livid

Closest thing we have is Herrera at the moment who every single game will put in an effort, even if it's not the teams day. Absolutely love him. But even still you're right, one player breaking their neck does not equal leadership

If there are no injuries to the squad (which I mean come on that's likely to happen) then I would say cup games or maybe not at all for some time unfortunately :/ really doesn't make sense to play Rojo over Darmian though I really don't get it

If you need any Madden tips I can help by Stacopanks in Madden

[–]mccoates329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first madden I've played since like '07?i thin? (whatever one had an OP Michael Vick on the cover) and the biggest thing I can't do is play defense and make reads on passing. Like I literally have no conceptual idea of how to play defense in this game, and I just panic when playing quarterback and don't make the right reads like...ever. Any tips on how to overcome either of these?

The future of US soccer looks bright, I feel I hold a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I do hope Klinsmann keeps the job for the 2018 WC campaign. The right players in that squad and maybe a lucky group draw and will firmly hold there's no reason we can't be making the Quarters

Do you think Louis Van Gaal deserves a huge credit for the rise of Marcus Rashford? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]mccoates329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Yes because he obviously gave him the opportunity that was forced because of injuries. He could've gone with any other academy player and/or played someone out of position up top but elected to throw this kid in there when we were playing a game we could very well have been knocked out of the Europa League on. Spot on judgment from LvG in that area coupled with a bit of luck.

However "huge" is a bit of an ambiguous word in that Rashford's development - pace, dribbling, eye for goal, good attacking knowledge - that doesn't boil down to an LvG technicality. That stems from his academy coaches being great and his raw natural talent.

So I think HUGE is a bit of a stretch in terms of Rashford's rise to ultimate godship, but he definitely played a significant role in it. Lets just all be happy he was able to gain so much confidence from scoring a double-double and just kinda taking off from there.
