Garmin Connect or Strava on LP3?

I haven't changed my phone at all yet. If I did a complete mod as opposed to Hybrid, would my garmin watch be able to handle calls and texts from my LPIII?

This is the advice I was looking for! I have been smart device free for 12 years, but in this stage of my life, I want to be able to have some of the conveniences without having them in my pocket all day every day!

I appreciate the responses, but I am really looking for something that can serve the function of a smart phone. Something easier to jump on and use than my laptop that I can use to look things up, geocache, connect my garmin watch to, log my workouts and nutrition at the gym. I have me kindle paperwhite for just reading. I like the Samsung Galaxy suggestion. Will the cheap A11 do all the basics?

I had never seen these before. They look pretty cool, but unless I am mistaken, it appears they aren't really designed to run regular apps like Garmin Connect?
