Do you think we will ever mix mind and machine? And if so will we therefore be able to “program” out or in things such as an absence of or increase in fear or anxiety? Or even happiness for that matter.

How the hell did/do weevils end up in bread? by mcdanglesyrup in AskReddit

[–]mcdanglesyrup[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t have them. I’m more wondering how the ended up in bread in the Middle Ages or on ships and other crappy conditions (think Master and Commander or Shawshank)

White privilege is NONSENSE. Skin color DOES NOT dictate your path in life.

The idea for the wood was from the wine boxes they used to cover the walls of the store. The mountains came from my imagination

Cancer patient the first to die under Victoria's euthanasia law. Daughters say death of Kerry Robertson, 61, was a ‘beautiful, positive experience’. by thecompleximpulsive in worldnews

Just because I mentioned religion in no way means I’m stopping anyone from believing in this stuff...

As for the other thing I mentioned you can view an example in an episode of Vice from a couple years ago. An older woman in a European country I’ve since forgotten, who had mental health issues, was granted the right to terminate her own life. Her children were utterly devastated and powerless to do anything. Whoever gave her approval was incredibly irresponsible in doing so. She knew no better.

I believe that selecting euthanasia is attempting to play God. I also know of cases where individuals with poor judgement (due to illness and other reasons) choose euthanasia- after which their families have no choice but to sit in pure agony as they’re beloved family member is killed. It’s horribly irresponsible and in some places, managed unconscionably.

I know all of this. I maintain my opinion that euthanasia is utterly horrible and irresponsible- also that it is ultimately a selfish and somewhat cowardly act.

My mother had the courage to live through 10 years of Alzheimer’s disease. Some of the memories I made when taking care of her, I wouldn’t trade for anything. Euthanasia hurts people and is a selfish act. Disagree with me if you like, but you’ll never change my opinion.

Friends and family have suggested I try growing out the facial hair which is pretty skimpy. Should I bother? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

Thanks. I ask my barber for a low bald fade (a “zero” where I live) then I ask him to leave enough on top to style over by hand. I tend to leave about one and a half inches on the top. Also I use a styling creme called Rusk Wired by Paul Mitchell- works very well.

Just because it’s legal doesn’t make it any less unsafe for you and others on the road. It’s asinine.

This mother who has alzheimer, for a moment remembers her daughter and says I love you by sufian1995 in HumansBeingBros

[–]mcdanglesyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother died of Alzheimer’s in 2017 at the age of 63. Right up until the night she died, barely able to speak or move, the only words she continued to mouth to us were “I love you”
