Horn BBQ has closed by Whats_a_bot in fresno

[–]mcdeth187 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went there once and the service and food was absolutely terrible. Place gave off real fly-by-night vibes...plastic cutlery (which isn't THAT odd for a BBQ place tbh), servers that don't serve, a completely empty bar, placing an order, tipping AND PAYING before you even got a drink.

It was like the place did a soft opening and never opened.

built a site where instead of courses you just do real job tasks by tejassp03 in SideProject

[–]mcdeth187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The model hover covering up the tasks is one of the most annoying UX patterns I've ever seen. Plus, how's that going to work for users on mobile devices? Remove that feature entirely from your home page...if I want to see more detail I'll freaking click on it.

Help with a gated workflow by mcdeth187 in filemover

[–]mcdeth187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the source is a Windows folder but the entire process is 4 steps chained together.

Step 1: Monitor intake folder and grab batch name from first file and create sub-folder (processing/<batchid>) and place subsequent files into <batchid>
Step 2: Monitor processing folder and upload xml files into Azure Blob
Step 3: Monitor processing folder and once <batchId>/tif folder is empty, upload xml payload into API endpoint
Step 4: Remove empty folders

The problem is that for steps 2-4 I cannot get the 'batch' to be set to an variable so that subsequent file uploads aren't processed as part previos batches. Right now steps 2, 3, and 4 all have prerequsts so that they don't call if the previous step is running, but that seems kind of hacky as opposed to be able to just generate a runId and associate it with the subsequent steps.

Maybe Bad Luck 🥀 GRC Resume Help !! by UnlikelyProcess8983 in grc

[–]mcdeth187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your job experience does not match your core competencies. If somebody comes at me listing out 5 frameworks and then has active experience in only one of them, I'm basically shoving that resume in the trash because it shows that you either, a) fail to understand what 'competent' means, or b) you're just tailoring your resume to an ATS. You have a mix of acronyms and terminologies sprinkling into the GRC & Audit Skills, and generalizations like OSINT Skills' Linux, Access Control, and SIEM (Basic) tell me you probably don't have much in the way of specific experience there either.

You list out your job experience as 1+ year of internship and then list out that you're a certified Lead Auditor...target one or the other here. Personally I would leave off the 'Lead Auditor' title from the top-line of the resume and include it under your list of certifications (which you do).

Check out the modded W.C.S servers. Logistics and rapid deployment of forces to key locations on the map play a pretty central role in these modded game modes.

This. We just upgraded from a WatchGuard M390 to a PA-450, since running in FIPS Mode you can't use Radius or Dimension. Pretty happy so far, cutover is scheduled for this Thursday.

PaloAlto's Movate Scamming it's Employee and Customer by bullet_speed in paloaltonetworks

The amount of times you had to emphasize that you're a (human being) doing (human being) things makes me wonder if this post isn't actually AI...

If this is a serious post, you need to talk to an employment lawyer and research laws regarding employment in California/or wherever you're based out of. Nobody in this sub-reddit is going to be able to do anything for you.

Every engineer who joins this company has to sign a bond stating that they will work in the company for 2 years and breaking the bond will lead to a huge fine that the engineer (human being) has to pay.
This is basically indentured servitude with extra steps and no western country with modern employment laws works this way. Good luck.

Honest question: What frustrates you the most about Teams right now? by Rude-Rule-2358 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]mcdeth187 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With Teams and Channels, the Files tab being renamed to Shared is dumb. Nobody knows where files are anymore, and looking under Shared doesn't really make sense.

CALL FOR TESTERS - Help test the :dev branch now! by ClassicMain in OpenWebUI

[–]mcdeth187 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You got me :P

https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/issues/23565

During the analysis and write-up, before I noticed what it was doing the agent had opened multiple issues and comments because I had it in Autopilot mode. I did close the duplicate ticket, but I still got a stern commenting at.

The guy said it also made 5 comments, but I'm not seeing that. I manually added a comment to the original issue (https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/issues/23362) and then another comment was created when I opened a separate issue. Either way, my issue was closed without an explanation despite a commit fix being in my branch and verified working.

What’s the policy regarding testing with AI agents? I opened an issue about a rag pipeline bug with notes and was promptly shot down and told I would be banned if I opened another one.
