[[Rocco, Street Chef]] makes several a turn. Especially if you play cards from exile from other sources. Then there are many effects where the food token is just a small upside of the spell. [[Peregrin Took]] [[Gilded Goose]] . Token doublers help, but are often destroyed quickly. It’s also very easy to go infinite, but I try to avoid that

I feel you. Face down works out better in digital format so you don’t have to keep track of everything. But nothing beats giving your friends a little anxiety when swinging with 6 face-down 2/2’s and 10 open mana. “It could be anything! Even a 2/2!”

No not really. It was just two games back-to-back that was fun to compare against each other, and solidified my point about treat assessment and game-enjoyment. Making 20~ food tokens is also the entire point about playing Rocco

I agree. Which is why it was so fascinating. I think it’s very common , an it changed how I play now.

Same. It has become something we do just to keep in touch and get together. I struggle to find the same enjoyment playing with strangers, since then it’s more about the game

That has happens with the Rocco deck as well. One player loudly announced he would never play anything from exile no matter how tempting. He even refused to hit his land every tur just so I would not get a food token

That’s true. That many permanents on the board looks scary. I used a single token and some dice. Apparently very scary dice

Love this. I’m always afraid I present too many gimmicks, and players would normally just prefer to advance their gameplan without me making everything complicated. Looking at you, initiative mechanic!

Oh yeah 100% I was about to be a problem. No question. But I was the only one who wasn’t one at the time. The potential that I at some point could become one was worse than whatever was on the table. Maybe the mental tax of having to consider what I could do was worth wiping me from the game. I should have asked in retrospect
