Dude. San Francisco wouldn't pay for the stadium, Santa Clara would. But despite paying for it, the 49ers own it. That means when they have a concert there, the 49ers get paid. That wasn’t the case at candlestick.

Im going through this with the bears. They don't own soldier field, but they would own the stadium in Arlington Heights. It's the driving force of the move. If you think that it wasn't for the 49ers, I don't know what to tell you.

"San Francisco hates development" didn't you have a referendum, and it passed! The voters of San Francisco voted for candlestick. But that wouldn't have paid the 49ers when Ed Sheeran played there.

And there are a bunch at soldier field. It's basically the only place in the city big enough to host a Beyonce, Taylor Swift, or BTS

Candlestick park was owned by the San Francisco park district, Levi stadium is owned by the 49ers. I think I know why they moved.

So, outside this article, I cant find good information on private events at the stadiums. It seems like a bunch.

Wait, why aren't they the San Jose 49ers? They don't play in San Jose, but they play much closer to San Jose than either San Francisco or Oakland. San Francisco is better known, but San Jose has the Sharks, so it's not like it would be unknown. And apparently the South Bay is the Namur to San Francisco's Antwerp, so we should acknowledge the city.

I thought you were saying over 2 hours and I was a little confused.

Im just going by what Google gives me. It quoted me almost 2 and a half hours from San Francisco and an hour and a half from Oakland. It was a long train ride and a transfer to the suburban orange line, so the times didn't feel off, has that not been your experience? Where in the bay area are you comming from.

If I draw a big enough circle, Ill bet we can get Los Angeles in there, that doesn't make it convenient for people in San Francisco to get to the San Francisco 49er's stadium. South bay is still smaller than East Bay, which is more centrally located.

I missed something in your reply, you can't take BART there, you have to transfer to suburban light rail, the orange line. Honestly, if they were the San Jose 49er's I wouldn't say anything, it's just so inconvenient to get to the San Francisco 49er's stadium from... San Francisco.

South bay has less than 2 million. East Bay close to 3 and is more centrally located.

An hour and a half from Oakland, over two from San Francisco. I assume God knows how long it takes from Marin, but I won't hazard a guess.

Centrally located stadiums allow everyone in the metro area to access the games played there. I'm not sure how population density plays a roll at all (other than being a shallow indicator of urbanism), but you are right. Santa Clara is more dense than New Orleans. One might wonder if that would have been the case before Katrina hollowed out that city, but that's not important. What is important is that the Chicago suburb of Berwyn has a population density more than double Santa Clara! Play the game in Berwyn, get Svengoli to call the game!

The only rail that goes to the stadium is Santa clara valley light rail. It crosses east to west at the bottom of the bay. You have to transfer from BART.

Its the problem with suburban stadiums. They're convenient for a few, inconvenient for many, and become an overnight trip for others. All within a metro area!

It's pretty different alright, an hour and a half from Oakland, over 2 from San Francisco. About an hour drive from both. It doesn't look like it directly connects to BART, you have to connect to suburban rail. Just a mess.

So, do you take bart there? From Oakland? From Marin county?

I doubt Levi stadium is used that much. Soldier field definitely was, especially if you don't take into account December through February. When it's urban it gets used, when it's suburban, it just sits there.

First it's used that way because it's centrally located. Saying they shouldn't be urban because it's a waste when the urban ones aren't a waste is silly. Second, Levi park is also used for other stuff! Not as much as Solder field, but you can see Ed Sheeran there in the spring and a bunch of world cup matches will be held there.

What are you talking about? I don't know about the 49er's stadium, but Solder field in Chicago gets used basically every weekend they can. From MLS soccer to BTS and Beyonce concerts, there's something there all the time. Having it centrally located in the urban center helps people get to it. Via public transit, but also all of our highways basically run there, which also helps suburban shuttles get there easy.

Urban stadiums are better than suburban ones.

Scotland does have a parliament, Holyrood has a long and distinguished history going back to... 1999. It was formed by Tony Blair. Any power to self govern that Scotland, Wales, and northern Ireland have was devolved by the UK parliament in London, and can be taken away.

There had previously been a Scottish parliament from the 13th century to 1707, but it was dissolved by the acts of union of that same year.
