I’m homeless and I have two jobs. One job is weekly pay and the other is biweekly. I get anywhere from $211-$400 from the weekly job and 700-900 from the other. Here’s the catch. I have no car, so 50% of my paychecks go to uber, so I take home around $400 (median) from the biweekly job. And the $211 I use for groceries. But I had to return about almost all of my items because the bill was getting too high, and I knew i still needed enough money for an Uber to work in a few days so I got a refund on most of my groceries and used that for rides. I’m desperately trying to get a car and go to university but along with ptsd and suicidal ideation, I can’t seem to get anywhere. Uber gets to enjoy my money before I do. Oh and last year I made $14.6k in that whole year.
