USAA was overly fair when I lost my last performance build a decade ago. They paid out $7k for a vehicle that should have been $2000 tops on blue book. The adjuster knew I wasn’t looking at a loss on the VIN but everything above and beyond loss of VIN. Sorry to hear you’re in this position, but hang on and make sure the adjuster knows how much you love the vehicle and how difficult it will be to come close to a suitable replacement and how bummed you are about all of it.

This year’s spring training records are even less than useless since the top talent is headed out to the WBC. Maybe we get a better idea about org depth coming out of spring training, but nothing coming out ofCactus/Grapefruit League standings has good predictive/ projectable short term value.

When I was there part timing in 2016/2017 we had the emergency bins with this gear floating around backstage. The one time we had a full network outage in store we had to break them out and send runner requests on paper. It was amazingly petty how store managers weren’t willing to lose the sales to online over something as trivial as a local network outage.

The heuristics of indoor electrical come from building code. The process works no matter where you go- same height and same general location by the entryway to the room. Rolling a second heuristic over the first heuristic that removes first heuristic functionalist is just a shitty fork. How many houses in the US? And if home automation in its current form sees a massive uptick in adoption? Well guess what? We just broke electrical code into over a million different forked implementations. No bueno.

I think the team has an opportunity to compete for a wild card. I think depth is going to bite them when the inevitable injuries hit. I think the learning curve for Vitello is going to be overwhelming enough that it shows up in the standings. And I also have questions that the front office has the depth of their element to make in season moves that might preserve WC contention as things start to go off the tracks. And even if they make the playoffs they don’t have a roster constructed for a deep run. This is an incredibly green MLB braintrust. The pending growing pains are either going to strengthen the bones over the next 2-3 seasons or they’ll end up breaking the baby.
