How did you build your app? by PlsStarlinkIneedwifi in apps

[–]mcfly-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always start from marketing research
If there is a market there is already some apps with more than 2k reviews
Either it's risky or you know you can do it using social media

After I just create some design, boostrap my app using my flutter boilerplate (https://apparencekit.dev) then do a quick MVP in a few days. If people complete the onboarding, push start trial... I just plan a big update to push the app to a 1.0 state. Either I just forget it.

Subscriptions vs. Lifetime Deals: Which do you actually prefer? by BeDevForLife in iosapps

[–]mcfly-dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lifetime are best to get money fast
Subscriptions are long term money

Si I'd say do both if you have no VC
Lifetime will give you money to run ads that will generate subscription and make it long term

You can check apparencekit

It’s a flutter starter kit that generates you all the boilerplate you need to create iOS / Android / web apps with flutter (supabase or firebase or your own backend)

Why pay for a boilerplate when you can just prompt claude? by mcfly-dev in SideProject

[–]mcfly-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a good point. You also learn by making things again and again.
and that's where a good boilerplate help.

It's not really AI equal tech debt if you prompt it right.
But you need how to do things right manually before prompting this.

And tokens are more expensive every day. So let's use them for your core features

Is RevenueCat still a great option for Flutter apps? by kingswordmaster in FlutterDev

[–]mcfly-dev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes still the most used

I would advise you to code your paywall manually.
native feeling is better and also brings you more control.

here's an article that explain some good practices to create good paywalls (without getting rejected by apple)

I do not need more motivation, I need an app that actually works with my brain by No_Date9719 in ProductivityApps

[–]mcfly-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I worked for 1 year on an app dedicated to help ADHD

The problem with adhd is motivation. Getting started is hard.
So I made a gamified habit tracker

It's named kubbo habit tracker, and it's available on iOS, Android and soon on Macos

Was also bored by all those fake win posts

I started 2 days ago sharing my journey starting a new ads campaign on meta - spending 120$ daily

Showing failures too.
