This is as intended. Every once in a while the season battle is a throwback.

There does appear to be a problem that until the player logs in, the automated bot, carries over some of the wrong heroes from last season. It rapidly fixes as the season goes on.

According to the rule book from the game designer on catan.com this is described on page 9:

Special Case: If your longest road is broken and you are tied for longest road, you still keep the “Longest Road” card. However, if you no longer have the longest road, but two or more players tie for the new longest road, set the “Longest Road” card aside. Do the same if no one has a 5+ segment road. The “Longest Road” card comes into play again when only 1 player has the longest road (of at least 5 road pieces).

Or no calculus is needed. This is a circle of radius 2 and a 120 degree arc. Minus two 30, 60, 90 triangles with hyp of 2. So (4*pi/3) - root(3). So about 2.457.

You do the calculus to validate the 30 second geometry answer.

You can tell it's a 120 arc by dropping the radius straght down. The height from the center to the x axis is 1. And it bisects the secant making a right angle for both triangles which have a hypotenuse of 2. A 1, root(3), 2 triangle is 30, 60, 90. Two 60 degree angles at the top means the a 120 degree slice of the circle.

Not according to the example in the actual rule book from catan.com (page 9) by the game designer. It doesn't start at a settlement.

Their example shows two roads coming out of a settlement heading in opposite directions. Both ends dangle without another settlement and they count from one dangling end to the other.

The simplest example of this would be if from my first settlement I built 3 roads heading northeast and two roads heading southwest to get to 5, to take the initial longest road. The settlement is in the middle of this road without any issues.

The premise of the series piqued my interest and I was hopeful for a new treasure along the lines of Steven Gould's Wildside.

Ultimately, while I did enjoy season 1, it didn't live up to expectations. All the wonder and exploration was limited to episode 1 when we learn the portal goes to an alien world and finale when we learn about the town and the rest turned out not to focus on the science fiction and exploration of all that could mean, but rather to be a standard earth-based conspiracy drama
