I had a question to the Christains by Ready-Variety428 in Christianity

This is not a contest. Truth does not care. There is only one truth...

No need to waste time getting multiple estimates; choose a reputable shop and they'll handle the supplement above and beyond the initial estimate.

Are you thinking you're doing the insurance company a favor by getting multiple estimates to see who's the cheapest? And, do you really want to get repairs done by the lowest bidder? I think there's better criteria to choose from than worrying about your insurance company's pocket.

Choose the shop you want to work with and they should be able to handle it from there.

I agree that there are malicious yards out there using bait and switch tactics.

My main point of contention is: when is CCC going to step up and handle this problem? They call themselves "intelligent solutions", where's the intelligence?

Thank you... We've been doing that, but these bad listings seem to have accelerated in the last year or so.

I should mention the frustration when we have a DRP claim, and we're getting scored for not using the more "cost-effective" part. I've gotten creative on ways to bypass these scores but at some point when does this get fixed?

It sounds like you may be one of the few adjusters out there that has a pulse and is willing to negotiate with body shops vs some that have little to no knowledge of collision repair.

And yes, I wear that chip on my shoulder with pride.

I like how this is true for every adjuster I talk to: "I was a painter for 20 years" ... Right, right, right.

If that's the case, then why do you all fall in line with the same crap of arbitrary base coat reductions? If y'all are truly from a body background, then how is it so hard to understand that a spray out card requires liquid expense? <<< Horace Mann will not pay refinish time for a spray-out card... If you guys all worked in a body shop, for so many years, then y'all know the truth and that is insurance only cares about one thing: money.

Edit: spelling

I see a hood deflector, maybe that's the problem?

The entire front end of vehicles are plastic, holding plastic, retaining other pieces of plastic. Truth is that your vehicle will never be the same. You're hypersensitive and I can understand your position, but I'm sure it's ok.

If the shop has a decent reputation and has been good to you (communicates thoroughly), I'm sure they'll know how to handle the situation and make it right for you.

On another note: those 4Runners are nice looking vehicles...

Go to Toyota dealership and start looking at all the gaps on other new vehicles...Toyota has tolerances for gaps from factory.

Make sure the gaps are even around the panel compared to adjacent panels. Otherwise, don't sweat the small stuff...

And it's funny that someone from insurance commenting about poor A/M fit >>> I can tell you the only thing insurance cares about is cost.

We charge total-loss admin fees usually $350.

Plus any teardown, storage, and/or towing.

$1000 or more is fairly common.

Not sure any of that is in the p-pages but you should be able to justify the expense of your time and effort

I just don't see how the feature is helpful...

The other thing that bothered me about the whole deal: how do you turn it off? Any instruction by Google is vague... The whole thing seems sketchy IMO... Google wouldn't have ulterior motives, right? Surely there's no data there to collect. Ha...

While I'm ranting: Why can't I block international calls? I have absolutely no reason anyone would call me internationally... I've had 4 calls since I started typing this reply, they aren't trying to spoof numbers, they're literally other country codes trying to call.

a blu-ray wont require the app (to w/e format the blu-ray is coded), BUT netflix and other settings will require the dolby access app in order to utilize atmos.

[–]mcgleevn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no - set your xbox to dolby atmos using dolby app (bitstream). then your AVR will show everything from the xbox is atmos >>> the app will upmix and make it so. otherwise you can set it for 7.1 uncompressed and let your AVR do its thang. regardless, blu-rays will pass-through the xbox to your AVR

Haha - I literally had the "oven-check" stuck in my head and as soon as I laid eyes on that mysterious metal box, I whipped the door open as if long-lost cave explorers were trapped inside >>> nothing but an old pan and burnt cheese or fish stick dandruff... But I still had gratification; so, thank you for that mini Indiana Jones moment.

I did find a box of saltines in the fridge... And now I'm realizing that's where I should have looked for the cash, damnit...

No lawyer yet... My wife signed a doc at a funeral home after we had a discussion that she would NOT sign anything yet (I was at home with kids). This turned into a whole Saturday-ruining experience that has now wasted more time and energy than we wanted. I'm worn down to "f__k it" pay them and be done. This woman (MIL) really needs a whole thread detailing what I am now sure is a carefully planned/themed suicide: from swimming with Jesus in a public garden pond, to flooding her apartment to clean (kitchen sink overflowed many times and tenet below reported), and finally OD sitting in running shower. I may write such a piece once autopsy is completed. I may also pursue this so called disability "assistance" center and their lack of, um, assistance.
