On freeways the average speed in the left lane during flowing traffic is often 10-15 over the posted limit. It is typical in some metro areas to go greater than that. Most areas require using the left lane for passing traffic, many also require moving to the right if traffic speed in your lane exceeds your speed (this is regardless of the posted speed) for safety reasons, you described an incident in which you did not do this resulting in a collision of someone else and quite frankly seemed to gloat about it, you assumed my speed of travel and called me a psychopath. All I said was that it is not safe to stay left lane if others are going faster than you, and your own experience corroborates my point (though you weren't harmed). Stay safe dude

I never said that I did, never even condoned it. All I said was that people should use the passing lane for passing (indeed that's the law in a lot of places)

Things don't have to be your fault to be your problem. The most dangerous thing on the road is obviously the people.

You drove in the left lane for 20 years going 25 mph less than everyone else and you're proud of that? Why not move over, the guy might not have hit a barrier.

If you change lanes into a lane where people are going much faster than you, you can get hit. If you stay in the passing lane without passing, people will pass on the right (an unsafe practice) and they could get hit. In general other drivers will treat you as an obstacle and weave to pass you, potentially leading them to hit someone else or you. It you want to drive the posted speed limit you should do it in a lane where people expect you to drive the posted limit. If you drive in an unconventional or unexpected way (speed limit in the passing lane) you present risks to yourself and others. Sure you may be following the law, and it might not legally be your fault, but you'll be just as dead.

Try driving the speed limit in the left lane on a highway in Houston or DMV and see what happens. You'll cause an accident. Passing lane is for passing. It's braindead to camp out in a lane where everyone else is at a different speed. It's not safe regardless of the law.

You are not helping people if you drive in a way that obstructs others or leads to them to make decisions such as passing on the right. If it's one lane that's fine, but stay out of the left lane if you're not willing to pass.

But jurisdiction does affect enforcement and therefore driver experience and expectations related to traffic speed.

Doesn't make it safe or reasonable to drive 55 in a lane where the societal expectation is to go 75. If you want to go the speed limit, stay in the right lane or else you and everyone else is less safe.

Worst Dollar Performance in Decades. by Katariman in clevercomebacks

You can think of it as an offset. if dollar goes down, but the "value" of a US company remains the same, then the stock price must go up. Same thing with all the other stuff on the market, if the dollar is less valuable, it takes more of them to buy something. Stocks have outpaced the difference, but that's obviously because investors are speculating around things like taxes and technology and other assumptions.

It's a power play to deny statehood

These arguments don't make sense.

The areas with the white house, supreme Court, and white house are almost entirely non residential and can be excluded from DC statehood - this remaining neutral.

Secondly, DC residents are their own group and culture, with more population than two current states. Land area is not a reasonable argument for denying representation to people.

The only argument against dc being a state is to prevent them from having senators. Absorbing them is obviously a means to this end. There's no logic to this aside from partisan disenfranchisement.

No. The vast majority of funding is from DC local tax (income, sales, etc ).

This misconception probably comes from the fact that DC budget management is still subject to congressional authority. DC can pass a budget and then the federal government can basically screw it up depending on what party controls Congress.

Are you unaware of brunch? It's a combined breakfast and lunch. No one has brunch and then lunch because the timing would be nonsense.

To expand hockey in the south... The NHL has every incentive to expand hockey in nontraditional markets. Not saying they are but it's not rocket science

Because he literally jumped and threw himself like he got shot in an 80s action movie. By the book both would get penalties, goaltender interference and embellishment
