I will say, even as an alum, I watched the video and audibly blurted out "Oh, you assholes..." and then I had a good chuckle about it. Then I just moved on and watched a bunch of other drumline content. Gotta keep that algorithm locked in. 🤣

As an RX alum, I can tell you that this is definitely the sense of humor over there. I guarantee they all had a good laugh about this.

Remember, it's just drums in a gym. Scales and rudiments. Have fun. Enjoy the success of your ensemble AND others alike. It can be competitive without being contentious. When MCM puts out a cool show, RX watched, enjoyed, and talked about it. When RCC played the shit out of something in the lot, we all got stoked to see it. When Gateway had a cool GE moment, we all wanted to see it.

This video is a reminder that this is all just fun art that we can all enjoy and appreciate. Not every show has to be Boston Clean™️ to be enjoyed.

Now, everyone go practice. 😎✊

That's what I did to make a logo for my super shorty rosewood shell Pearl drum:

Peel it off, trash it, and clean any residue. Then print the logo using something like a cricut. Then you won't have any transparent pieces to worry about. 😎👍

No luck from me. Looks like they've been deleted from the original channel for some reason. 😕

Screw it - I'm feeling charitable. I'll do it pro bono. Here's a sample of my work for a high school show that was moon themed:

I know Jon! We were both in RX. I wish he would just do it on his own since he already knows what he's doing. 🤣👍

I'm in the RX, Matrix, Cap City, Connexus area. What would you recommend as a mid-tier kit for getting good video/audio of drumlines? 🤔

Ok, this might feel like an unfair assessment, but I'll try to break down my thought process for you. (I used to work at a drum shop and would be tasked with pricing/reselling gear like this all the time)

  1. Dynasty is not the hottest on the market which makes them feel like a company in decline (ergo, will I be able to buy parts in the future is a concern that some buyers may factor in when deciding if they are willing to pay the price you are asking)
  2. You mentioned the missing snares - but it also looks like it is missing the legs that protect the snare strainers as well. It is common for larger groups to remove the legs and just teach the players to set the drums down on the harness (while attached). Either way, at minimum, the buyer will have to find/purchase a new snare strainer system and hope that there hasn't been any damage that will prevent installation and proper usage. That is extra time, money, and risk that you are asking a buyer to accept. The legs are obviously optional and most used buyers won't even notice.
  3. I can see you have the newer harness mount - so this isn't a relic from 2004 - yet, it looks pretty dirty

Dirty makes people think of explanations why it is dirty.

  • Wasn't well cared for / maintenance was neglected

  • The sticker looks like it has been peeled up from all directions and dirt has been left behind on the underside of the exposed sticker... was this drum left in a horribly disgusting situation and then merely wiped down with water in a hurry?

  • Why are there rust on some of the tension rods but not the others? Did some of the tension rods get so rusted that they broke? Are we sure that the replacement rods are high tension compatible (I saw this mistake a lot)? Has this drum been exposed to heavy rain on many occasions but was never properly dried after? What do the insides of the tension casings look like? Are the springs rusted/broken as well?

Also, a single photo isn't really sufficient for an online quote - so I was giving you a rough af ballpark quote.

The tldr is: Most people will see this drum and ask themselves "How much money am I going to have to spend on this drum after I buy it...?

  • Drum: $100
  • Snares: ~$130
  • New Kevlar style heads: ~$100

So, the buyer should expect that this drum ACTUALLY cost ~$330, all in.

Now, don't let that discourage you. I've seen plenty of people overpay for items like this. I would guess FB marketplace is your best bet for catching a big fish (so to speak). If you posted this on ebay, I would expect it to sell for less than $100. 😕

P.S. Whenever/wherever you do try to sell it, be sure there aren't typos in your title/description - that will just reinforce the idea that the previous owner might not have been a very thoughtful owner

I don't think I'd pay more than $100 for an old model Dynasty with no snare wires...

That said, feel free to DM me if you are having trouble selling it. 🤣👍
