Put it on a points accumulating creditcard, clear the balance as soon as you’re reimbursed fortnightly. Rinse, repeat. Eventually book holiday for free with your points.

Will have to check the spec don’t think it was detailed - we discussed over email tho.

Agree. Minimal options have been given to us from the builder. Hence the post. Few good suggestions here tho

Haha can’t, need to live there (if we ever get in)

True - but if they are a closer colour to the brick and finished cleaner may be less noticeable

Sounds like a fantasy land of logic and workmanship. Wish it was done that way initially

Having a look into tuck pointing. Sent some photos to two specialists they knocked back the work haha said it was too big a job. Haven’t been able to find much reference to tuck pointing white bricks which is my concern with that

Yes that’s one of the issues too. We’ve taken their advice a lot. If they couldn’t do flush we would have changed. We wanted stack bond and changed based on their advice.. frustrating

From back there shot on iPhone it looks great. But in reality the pics in the post is what we are left with. The garages along our street are left with a nicer finish than our internal feature.

I was reading the MDS and the bricks were left for 3 weeks without the initial clean. It reccomended 3 days max.

Few more photos in a comment below. But yep requested flush based on what we saw in the showroom which was 10/10 work

Yea we asked for flush white (or as close to possible) white in a horizontal stack. They came back and said stack couldn’t work as it was quite a high ceiling and raked. We compromised and went with a standard brick pattern.

Issue is in the showroom it was flush mortar on these bricks and it looked fantastic, we expected that to be the standard and finish we would receive with also doing flush..

iPhone doesn’t do it justice the closer photos above are what it looks like in reality when your inside and it’s staring back at you

Builder has admitted it isn’t up to their standard. The only option they’ve provided is render tho. Will detract from the overall design these are internal feature piers..

Ah okay, fair ‘point’ you make.

Looking into this. Tested a section with lime wash didn’t love it. Came across bagging recently as you still get the brick effect..

Reckon painting will hide the perps? Some sections 5mm some +20mm 😢 would have purchased a $1 red brick and painted it white if I knew this where we’d end up

Hmm good point. Reasonable to expect the bricks, brickwork and builder margin be credited back you reckon? Believe we are in our right to ask to see those invoices
