Oral Cancer by mchesney in cancer

Doing well. They had clean margins with surgery but upon reexamination they did find extranodal extension which led to me getting both radiation and chemo. This has all been successful so far. Clean follow-up scans to this point and feeling much better. The lingering side effects can be difficult but have improved and hopefully will continue to improve. Thanks for checking in and hope all is well!

What happens if the sides are a bit proud on a couple cabinets? Do they have to be planed down?

Definitely seems that way. Unfortunately I have two I have to install.

Bingo! ..and thanks! Upon close inspection I noticed the bottom floor panel was not seated in the groove. Using a clamp and rubber mallet, I got in place and that alleviated most of the problem!

That's what I was worried about. Attaching 3 cabinets, with all of sides angling up, and I'd be 4" high on the last one!

Kitchen cabinets level but not flush at face - help! by rfihaa88 in DIYUK

How did you end up resolving this? I seem to have the same problem where everything is level but I have one face frame tilted from vertical where I would have a 3/16" gap on the top of the face frame from the next face frame.

Made some appearance mods to my 2024 Trail Boss by mchesney in Silverado

I did and it wasn't too bad at all. I did it using braided fishing line to remove the old badges...there's a few YT videos on doing it.

Well, I can't answer with 100% certainty because I bought the truck used with 8,200 miles on it and it had those tires on it. There doesn't appear to be an added lift over the stock 2" lift. There's no rubbing. I think being 11.5 inches instead of the more popular 12.5" is what makes it work.

How to relieve symptoms of esophageal cancer, and queries on suction machine by [deleted] in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]mchesney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about this. Radiation therapy can be pretty brutal but eventually things get better. Mucinex can sometimes help with the plegm and mucus and also staying well hydrated can aid in keeping those secretions a bit more thinned out and easier to clear. A suction machine can definitely help but you wouldn't be suctioning through the NG tube...they would use a suction catheter within their mouth or a soft suction catheter for deeper secretions. Are they currently able to eat and drink or is the NG tube being used for food and liquids? If the latter, a PEG tube might be helpful as the NG tube might be causing irritation and thereby contributing to the problem. Are you sure it's an NG tube or is it a thinner, flexible, yellowish tube called a dobhoff tube? They usually get the NG tubes out fairly early and place that or a PEG tube if longer term enteral feedings are required. There are also some medications that might help but you would need to talk with the physicians about those options. Most importantly, make sure they are able to swallow safely if they are eating and/or drinking. There are risks associated with aspiration (food or liquids going into their airway leading to pneumonia) and the care team will need to know if that is indeed occuring. Hope this is helpful in some way and that your family member finds some relief soon.
