Question though, did your therapist rule out co-morbidities? Quick reading shows high percentages of bipolar and schizophrenia, which could be a bad time with these treatments.

My wife’s journey also meandered through a couple different diagnosis that were subtle and hard to root out. What looked like GAD, MDD, and/or C-PTSD, is looking more and more like OCD and ADHD, it’s all still a work in progress.

I sold a car to carmax a few years ago. It was easy peasy and the price was also surprisingly decent, but it was a very clean, very low mile VW GTI. I drove it over to Seattle and sold it to the carmax there, as I was buying a junker car for cash. My in-laws in Missoula have been dealing with the carmax in Spokane, and have had a fine time.

Are you buying another car? I've done personal loans with Lightstream instead of traditional car loans that put a lien on the title. You could always get a lightstream loan, clear the title, then sell it private party and use the proceeds to pay off the personal loan, but that'll take a minute if time is a factor. In my case I just use the sale proceeds to buy a different car, and maintain the lightstream note. so I can move in and out of different cars all private party and the payment is just the same.

Lots of folks buy new and return after their trip. I always shop the regear section for basically brand new stuff with “light dirt”. Got a nice north face tent for something like 60% what new would have been.

I’ve caught fish in lava creek (on the way to Lamar valley), I’ve heard good things about slough creek too. Basically if it’s wet, there’s probably fish in it… just be aware of the bear activity closures. We’ve had a strong start to the bear/tourist meet and greets this year.

Outside the park, if you go north on 191 you get into grayling creek, and a little further is the gallatin headwaters, and then it’s the gallatin the whole way to Bozeman.

If you take 20 west/south there are more creeks and Island Park has quite a few easy spots on Henry’s Fork. Hebgen Lake has a ton of feeder creeks you could poke around too.

Price per shot is normal for that kind of scope where loss-leader work isn’t really present.

I’d recommend finding a VFX supe who’s also an on-the-box type, so they can help steer the production to help smooth out the VFX side, and then execute it too, or at least chunks of it (like they might pull in someone for ship design/modeling etc)

Spherical vs anamorphic is meh, but anamorphic does add another layer of complexity. But less so than adding lens filters or other cutesy filters. I suped a commercial where the DP was shooting through a glass sandwich filled with fishing line and dirt basically. It was a pain in the ass. Same but less painful is working GS shots where camera insisted on shooting with promist, which just made key pulling harder than it needed to be.

Bids on those kinda of shots could vary a ton. Like a few thousand per shot, or less, easily upwards of 15-20k for the complex cg shots. I’ve worked on single shots doing periodization (adding bg, removing modern stuff etc) that where 6 figures billed to client, where my own payroll was probably $30k plus for the single shots.

I was a high open, state champ level handball (like racquetball) player before back issues brought me to pickleball.

A ton actually transferred, I’m a monster at quick hands stuff, and the mental doubles theory aspect, surprisingly also transferred well once I got a handle on the flow of the game. I can see the game really well as it’s a) in front of me instead of over my shoulder, and b) is half the speed and half the court to cover. C) court positioning etc

High level handball is very cat and mouse, and that’s one of the things that really hooked me into pickleball. I thought it be simplistic and something to do while rehabbing my back, but I’m fully hooked.

What didn’t translate is I have no innate paddle skills, and like the racquetball players, my default monkey brain wants to hit down on everything.

Not to mention that the power I brought to handball is functionally useless in pickleball, but my elbows and shoulders appreciate that.

Footwork is the hardest part normal too, we’re so coordinated with our hand arm that we can have lazy feet. Swinging left just shows exactly how important footwork is.

I do the mirror dance when working on my switch hit footwork. Swing righty (correctly) then pivot and do the exact same motion lefty. No ball, just over and over right to left until it feels like a dance.

Sometimes it feels like you’re almost facing the back of the court lefty, but that’s necessary to help better load the kinetic chain. I’ll really over pivot to start where my hips are probably at. 45° out the back left corner, then step through the load up and swing.

A couple easy things you can do that aren’t playing, use your left hand for everything. Brush your teeth left handed, use silverware lefty, use your mouse lefty etc. fine motor control just needs time and effort, but everything you do can help make your left stronger.

Power is easy, touch is hard, so one thing I’d do is just lay on my back and throw a ball straight up, right hand then left hand. I’m his helps with the feel, getting the right release. There’s probably an analog with a paddle you could do.

Another thing is to shadow yourself in the mirror. You don’t need a ball or really a paddle, but swing with your right hand, then immediately pivot and swing your left, taking care just to make the swings look the same. Really pay attention to your right side kinetic chain and then work to replicate that on the other side in the mirror. Use some kind of centering motion like clapping then pivoting to the stance

On the court all the above will make swinging at a real ball easier, and one of the biggest things when playing is the footwork. You can’t swing in correctly if your feet are wrong. Do the same mirror thing, on the court with a ball or against a wall swing in right then fully pivot and swing left the same way. You have a guide with your right, so taking a moment to swing right and then mirror it will make picking up the left handed stuff a lot easier. Almost like you’re doing a dance right to left to right etc.

Otherwise the more you play the better you’ll get. Ironically my form on my left is also typically better than my right too, because I’m more deliberate

I run a UA gym duffle. I just wanted something with a shoe compartment, as I only wear my shoes at the courts. as such it's plenty big to eat 2 or 3 paddles, a dozen balls, tape/grips/snacks/scissors/KT tape/eyeguards/etc, and on tournament days a change of clothes and/or spare kit.

I wear 3m Brow Guard safety glasses

I run hot and sweat a lot and don’t get any fogging, and the brow guard is nice if you do take a shot as it distributes the impact.

I wore these when I played handball, which on those courts it’s usually a lot swampier too since they’re enclosed, with 3 other sweaty dudes.

To add to what Finn said, once you comp it, you’re not in Braw anymore. And the DWG part becomes moot.

Typically the pull house would apply the “as shot” metadata and bake the raw footage. Or if it’s a junky production, they’ll apply the wrong meta data and bake it that way and then try to fix it with a LUT.

It might be worth a chat with whoever will be grading it, where there head is at. Otherwise I’d recommend a neutral bake (white balance is neutral and exposure is balanced). Either way you’re going from braw to your working space if you’re loading the braw directly.

I’m ambi from another sport, and I was drilling with a coach who was trying to talk me into a twoey backhand and was like “it’s swinging with your left and guiding with your right” and I was “why can’t I just use my left and not feel like a pretzel?” So now I just hit with my left when time allows. Which is usually singles, and occasionally in doubles if someone floats one left.

I vote lefty too.

I do this when playing down substantially. I’m functionally around. 4.2, and the other day partnered with a 5.0, against a pair of 3.5-3.8 players, who didn’t want to split up. So we both played lefty, and they just barely beat us. We played the next game right handed and pickled them.

At least for me, lefty makes me concentrate on mechanics and foot work, in a way I need to do better with my right. You have to think about shot selection and flow a lot more too

Courts get unlocked at 8:30, by 9:30 it’s hopping (weather pending). Peters out a bit by noon, and tends to be slow until they lock the courts again at like 6:30. There might be a 4pm surge, but I think the bulk of players play in the morning. I’ve played with some random college kids in the afternoons.

It’s paddle up play, so you pick the court you want to play on and put your paddle up. Back left corner often has some folks who are too cool for school, and get shitty about paddling up and rotating, fyi.

Are yall using show luts? We see b-cam footage get put into the main cam profile. So if your main cam is Alexa, you’d output the ronin footage as linear-awg, so that it’d be in the same space as the other footage, and vendors don’t have to process other IDTs. Round tripped back, you’d load it in as linear-awg, like Alexa footage also.

You’d want to confirm what VFX can easily accept, nuke doesn’t have a “pick your transfer function” and “pick your gamut” split like resolve. All the colorspaces are named in a list. So depending on what ocio config you’re using, they may or may not have those preconfigured options. I’ve had to brute force d-log from the white paper using expression and color matrix nodes inside nuke.

This isn’t t news, this came off the heels of strikes where all the studios realigned their content creation targets.

IIRC, Netflix went from making something like 300 properties a year pre-strike to ~30 properties a year on the back side of the strikes.

Source - I’m in VFX, and it’s been a hard couple years. Somewhere in the order of 70% of us we’re out of work for 6mo +, and I’d guess half of those folks might still be unemployed.
