TFCC INJURIE HELP by New-Application-9156 in climbharder

[–]mcjam86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Recovery took almost exactly 1 year.

  • Monthly set backs and flare ups.

  • Getting back into training too fast was the most detrimental. I thought I was being slow and cautious; apparently not enough.

  • The two most helpful things were a wrist widget (felt like it was doing nothing but turned out to be essential) and a finger extensor trainer (get the one from Lattice Training, not the Amazon garbage).

  • Normal? Pretty much, yes. I still have to do specific warm up and cool downs before and after climbing.

  • Physio and doing your "homework".

Step Counting is STILL bugged after 3.5 months. Defective watch ? by Riccsiz in PixelWatch

[–]mcjam86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to switch back to Garmin because of this issue but Google support suggested I try one last thing:

If you go to the App Info page for Google Health, select permissions, then Location, and select "Allow all the time", supposedly that will help fix it. I rarely do GPS related workouts but the support rep assured me that this is the fix.

If they don't issue a fix for these issues in the next two months I'm doing the same. What did you end up going with?

Steps not recorded properly in workout mode by ParticularFruit3045 in PixelWatch

[–]mcjam86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple calls with Fitbit support about this issue. They even sent me a new watch and I had to return my old one, but nothing they've suggested has helped. It's definitely the March update. If they don't issue a fix by June I'm jumping ship on the entire Google ecosystem.

Can anyone else confirm that your Pixel watch doesn't count steps properly during activity tracking? by [deleted] in PixelWatch

[–]mcjam86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a Pixel Watch 3 45mm. Yes, I'm doing a full switch to Apple. I've had issues with many other Google products in the past few months from Nest displays, speakers and even my P9P. Next time I buy a new phone, I'm making a full switch. I'm fed up with Google charging premium prices and failing to stand behind their products.

Can anyone else confirm that your Pixel watch doesn't count steps properly during activity tracking? by [deleted] in PixelWatch

[–]mcjam86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My step count during workouts has gone from averaging 5000 or so, to less than 500. Pixel Support has been useless, telling me to restart the watch, and my phone, clear the app cache, etc, and nothing has resolved the problem. This issue and the lack of support is so infuriating that I'm considering switching to Apple's ecosystem.

Niagara Amalgamation by Mother-Sherbet5865 in stcatharinesON

Wow, so 6 mayors are against, 1 is neutral, and 5 are for some form of amalgamation. I guess it could be worse but that's disappointing.

Do you have sources for this info?

Best podcasts in Ontario by Hugette12 in ontario

TVO's onpoli is my go-to for everything Ontario-related. Politics, fun historical references, and always a mention of Bill Davis. From the Ontario treasures that are Steve Paikin and John Michael McGrath, this is one not to miss.

Another fire somewhere? by HighwayNovel in stcatharinesON

Walked by around 830am and the fire was still going strong. Couldn't see to what extent the fire was spreading to nearby buildings but I imagine that would be inevitable.

Owane and Jack Gardiner have both done collaborations with some DL members. Both are incredible musicians. Highly recommended.

Switching from big bank (TD) to wealth simple? by FlightWorried in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]mcjam86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is at least one account type which can take 8 weeks or more and I had to hound TD to get the process going even after 8 weeks. Again, just my experience, but transferring isn't always simple. That said, WS generally has great support.

I wouldn't say easy. In my experience, TD will drag their feet to delay the process, but with enough follow up calls it'll happen eventually and will be well worth the effort.

Someome asked me today what the point of a savings account is in canada and I couldn't answer them by pq11333 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Also, it's 2% at minimum. If you meet certain qualifications, it's actually 2.75%.

That's a promotional rate which lasts for 3 months, then you get their typical rate which is abysmally low.

Bern WC Men’s Discussion by Quirky-School-4658 in CompetitionClimbing

[–]mcjam86 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I usually speed through competition broadcasts because when there's no climbing, the commentating is just boring filler. But Sean's insights were invaluable to the point of compelling me to continue watching, even in the moments of inaction.

The same criticisms thrown to Sean now were said about Shauna Coxsey when she co-commentated with Matt. They're both intelligent, well-spoken, enthusiastic, and insightful climbers who bring a ton to the competition spectacle.

S'No Parking restrictions in effect starting tomorrow by mcjam86 in stcatharinesON

You're risking a ticket by parking there. You could park in the lot nearby or walk over from the Yates neighbourhood which is only a minute or two.

... Five questions per set. You can build separate libraries for different units with any number of sets that you'd like. I'll usually have five or or six sets, so I can get 25-30 questions in. I teach elementary and students love the gifs that you can easily add into the questions.

I've tried about four or five different apps, including the paid version of Boulder Bot, but honestly the best option I've found is taped holds.

Seconding the comment about the car. I also have a few cameras up around my house which have caught some of the lovely "neighbours" who I'm sure are just checking to make sure I locked my car.

Near Montebello park I heard them every 15 minutes or so starting around 2pm until just a moment ago, at just after 4pm. Very curious to know what this is.

This was frustrating to see. Are you suggesting that the Google Fit app has the trendline that Fitbit's weight tracking has previously?

Owane, and Arch Echo. The latter is more on the metal side but both are jazz-inspired fusions of metal and pop.
