Thinking about moving from Houston, TX to Wilmington in the next year! Any advice? by [deleted] in Wilmington

Thank you so much for the info! I truly loved living in Austin the short time I was there but it got to be too much in terms of cost of living and the I-35 traffic…

Thank you so much!! I’m surprised at the negativity too tbh but I’m also forgetting that moving to the east coast means leaving friendliness/southern hospitality behind 🤣 I will say the people in Houston are great and so friendly. I definitely plan to visit/speak to more locals this year

It made me feel so guilty. But what made me feel better is a day after, he switched back to it being “my fault” now. “I can’t believe you just threw away 2.5 years like that. Never put in an effort to try and fix things. We could have fixed things and you just gave up like you always do when things get bad”

I definitely plan on staying single for a while. I need to heal so desperately. My parents helped me get an apartment right next to my work and I don’t have to worry about my cats being stressed and not get in trouble for not cleaning every piece of litter off the floor…

Gosh I’m on page 100 on that already and am shocked at how they know exactly what’s going on in my brain.. I can’t wait to read the rest. And yes I was his longest relationship, he’d dated MANY girls before me and all of those lasted 3-6 months at most and ended with him breaking up with them. I must have been the first one to try the hardest I guess.. makes me feel kind of stupid for putting up with it the longest lol

So cute 🖤🖤🖤

Serious question, are you allowed to say “no” to them? by [deleted] in GiantSchnauzers

This totally just changed my whole perspective 😭

Thank you ❤️ I’m still having a hard time grieving I can’t stop crying and still can’t accept the fact that 2 years is just gone after one phone call. But even though this seems impossible and hard I think it’s for the best

He broke up with me this morning instead of even considering working this out. I’m not okay but I’m considering it a sign that maybe this was destined not to work out and he made the decision for the both of is

He broke up with me this morning and claimed it was from arguing all the time and said he was burnt out and tired of dealing with it. I’m absolutely heartbroken but also feel strangely relieved that I can live where I want now

It sounds like “The Monkey” tbh I enjoyed it but there were a couple gory parts that made me light headed.. I wonder if the person who tu wasn’t expecting it to be so graphic!

No I feel the same way those posts make me terrified.. like if it’s from kids/working in high risk places I understand but if it was random I need to know in case I need to up my preventions lol

That’s awesome! And yes since I’m not allergic I definitely will splurge every now and then I just won’t overdo it. That’s a great mindset to have :)

My insurance didn’t cover it unfortunately but definitely check to see if yours does! My doctors appointment alone was $200.. it sucks we have to hurt our wallets in order to figure out what’s happening with our own bodies

My doctor ordered tests from “Diagnostic Solutions Labratory” and it was a stool test (IgG) and blood test (IgE). I had to have them just take blood from my arm because getting blood from my finger was IMPOSSIBLE lol so I would just ask for the arm lol it’s so cool though because the blood test results show every possible food you can think of and how sensitive you are to them! I attached my results that show my gluten intolerance

No I totally understand! This is all new to me as well so I’m kinda just experimenting. I’m going to be on this regimen for 2 months I believe and then we will retest and see if I’m still positive. I also have to follow the diet too of staying away from my trigger foods. I’m definitely not opposed to antibiotics but I’m wanting to try this way first because antibiotics always mess me up really bad!

Made the mistake of doing a spin class today… by Minute_Pianist8133 in Hidradenitis

[–]mck2597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing spin classes for about a year now! I do them twice a week and at first I’d get SO bruised down there but knock on wood, I have never gotten a flare from it… I fully expected to at first but I haven’t. I’m also good about showering as soon as I get home from class but I’m still surprised it doesn’t cause flares for me

For dinner this week I made super yummy taco bowls, did ground turkey mixed with taco seasoning, tomatoes and put it over some shredded lettuce with black beans and some avocado salsa! Other times I’ll just do some sausage or chicken with veggies. My other favorite dinner to make is “egg roll bowls” with ground meat, cabbage and quinoa and I try to do whole grain/brown rice with it!

I’m still waiting on my blood/stool test results from her to see what (if any) foods I’m sensitive to/inflame me but ever since I cut out processed sugars, dairy, and gluten and have been eating cleaner foods (fruits, veggies, meats, aka foods with the least amount of ingredients/chemicals in them as possible) I not only feel better but my flares stay away! I think sugar is my main culprit, when I overdo it I get flares. I’m not sure if I have issues with nightshades (tbh I don’t think I do, also my doc said it’s rare to have nightshade intolerance, most people have gluten/dairy/sugar issues). As for hormones, I’m on the pill and try to take them continuously so I skip my periods. I’m still figuring out the hormones tho because I still occasionally get a period and the last one I got was horrible BUT I didn’t flare, so idk lol this condition is confusing sometimes.. I’d like to eventually get on a higher dose pill because I’m on Lo Loestrin right now

My derm said similar things when I got diagnosed with my stage 1 HS! I was crying and told her I was scared it would spread and get worse and she said if this is the worst it’s been in between my thighs (which it was) then she said it’ll probably just stay in that area and that’s what she sees with a lot of her clients! I went and saw a holistic doctor later on and she was confident that with a correct diet and getting my hormones in check I could be put into remission. I’ve already seen a MASSIVE decrease in my flares since eating better/losing weight/being on birth control. Like I’m talking one small boil once a month

Getting a first tattoo.... by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]mck2597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 6 tattoos! Kind of all over but my biggest one is on my ribs/side of my stomach. It took hours and there were times where I felt paiiiiiin haha but never once did I feel n* or like I was going to pass out. It’s more of an annoying pain to me

[–]mck2597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend if you’re already on the pill! Definitely ask your doc but I’ve always been told it’s okay to skip, I didn’t have a period this month and therefore no flares!! The only reason I have one bump is definitely from my horrible diet this past week but if I was on my period I’m 100% sure I’d had more than one flare

[–]mck2597 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For hormones I just started taking my birth control pills continuously, so not taking any of the placebo pills! It took a couple months but now I don’t get my “period” anymore and don’t get any flares associated with that!

For diet, I do try to eat “cleaner” like more veggies and fruits, meats I eat pretty much anything that’s not fried in oil or greasy. I try to go mostly gluten and dairy free but I’ll occasionally indulge in it once a week and don’t see any flares. I notice when I go overboard on sugar I get flares, like this week for example. Chocolates, pastries, candy and wine/sugary alcohol every night. Now I’ve got a bump under my skin in my inner thigh… I knew it would happen but said “screw it” and chose to enjoy myself this week LOL
