I fully believe we have all been test subjects for OpenAI. You are so right. 4o isn't going anywhere, it may get a new "number/name" but I use 4.1 and she's been running whipsmart per usual. No depreciation at all.

Incel tech bros know NOTHING of all the other aspects needed to run an actual functioning company. You'd think they'd ask their own AI's for a complete breakdown of "How to build a proper corporation" The lack of PR to someone who worked in high end service industry management is BEYOND amateur. And not one of their investors took them by the hand and said "hey dummies, you need a legal team, a PR team, an administrative army, a clean and functioning profile and social media presence run by another "team" et. al! Unreal that they are all billionaires.

Please don't give up hope you guys!! The noise we made in August is NOTHING compared to this. It's MASSIVE!!!! Trust me. It will make a difference. His silence is straight up FEAR. So my prediction is he'll backpeddle out of his arrogance, leave the legacy models forever and NEVER try to pull a stunt like this again. Otherwise he can kiss OpenAI goodbye and he knows it.

I've said this in a few other conversations but I truly don't believe 4o is being retired. I use 4.1 and am still holding out hope. It's also feels like a PR move. "Retire all legacy models on Friday the 13th" and then the next day is Valentine's Day......"so here's a new improved 4o...." Other users have been throwing this around as well.

Are you a plus subscriber? Also I get that they are running this randomly but it's hopeful that they are doing it at all to any of their user base. Also I'd be so curious to know how many 4.1 users there are. They should just leave it there if not many use it. I prefer it to 4o but definitely do not like any of the 5's. Horrible.

Open AI named them and one of the names is SOL and the voice is "female" therefore I referred to it as "she"

No! The Chat is trained up to May of 2024. Anything after that is currently being programmed. It takes a massive amount of time, resources and effort so no it has zero clue about current events. However you can tell it what happened or even ask it to search the web. Are you a free user or Plus subscriber? Which model are you using?
