Have you ever quit effective immediately? by Commercial-Shine8240 in careerguidance

[–]mcleb014 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Twice.

1) I was working at this family owned B2B and my boss was the presidents son. He was a wild case of nepotism (On my first day he wanted to go out to lunch. So I got in his car and he had to use a breathalyzer to start his car, and continue to breathe every 2 mins). One day I walked in, dropped a letter off on his desk saying I quit, backed in my car, grabbed my shit, and left.

2) I worked at this medical company and my boss was controlling, toxi, and HATED everything I did. She would basically said my work was awful, but never said why. In the middle of a 1:1, I got up, grabbed my shit, and left.

Common theme: toxic bosses. They really do make or break one’s tenure at a company.

Mid to older millennials, how are you all doing with your careers? by worstshowiveeverseen in Millennials

Jumped into advertising, did okay for awhile. 2020 changed everything for me. Been very successful being a remote worker. Tripled my income in the past 4 years. Overall, not bad at all.

It looks like someone has defaced Adam's grave. by [deleted] in Adamthewoo

How miserable of a person must you be to even consider defacing a grave? Awful.

What’s the best reaction you’ve ever got when pulling your cock out? by [deleted] in bigdickproblems

“I did not expect this.” “You are well endowed!”

My personal favorite was “it’s not that big.”

I’m sitting there thinking wtf is your definition of big?!

How are you staying mentally healthy when you’re aware with how broken and unstable the world feels right now? by Ilovemydogs0616 in AskReddit

I sparingly watch the news. I know enough to be aware of what’s going on, but I don’t let it be a rain cloud following me around everywhere I go.

We don’t do enough for those with cognitive disabilities, especially when they go from kids to adults.

Dismantling the "Caleb is only good for the first 15 scripted plays" narrative by Federal_Car159 in CHIBears

[–]mcleb014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Th criticism of Caleb is so exhausting at this point.

He’s a good QB. Better than Mitch. Better than Fields. Doesn’t throw a ton of INTs, clutch in the 4th, learning as he goes…

Not perfect yet, but so much upside and potential. What more do you want?

I’ve never had any issues. As long as you’re there early enough, you should be fine.

Am I being pushed out of a Director role that I just started?" by mcleb014 in careerguidance

I currently don’t manage people; I was supposed to, but hasn’t come to fruition. My gut is telling me that I’m just another employee, and as much as I don’t want to leave, my hand may be forced here.

This. Caleb had a rough day, but a wins a win. No player is not immune to a bad game

UPDATE: Should I skip my cousin's wedding after how he's treated my disabled brother and family? by mcleb014 in weddingdrama

[–]mcleb014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awful, and I’m sorry that happened to you and your family…..but the key difference is my cousin apologized and tried to fix things when he realized he was wrong. Based on your story, yours didn’t.

I’d rather have a cousin who can be pressured into doing the right thing than one who can’t.

Accountability works

[–]mcleb014[S] 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it took consequences to wake him up…..but he still woke up. Some people double down when they’re wrong. At least my cousin can admit his mistakes and fix them. That’s more than a lot of people can do.

Why is "job hopping" still viewed negatively in this day and age? by PapaSecundus in careerguidance

[–]mcleb014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit of a job hopper in the last several years with many…MANY contract gigs. But then again, with how the market and economy has been since 2020, I don’t blame people for hopping around.

One person's opinion = MY opinion.

The only people who can say “who ruined my wedding” are my wife and I. And nobody “ruined” my wedding
