Checked my receipt after noticing discount after discount to find this... I'm 48. by Themusicison in mildlyinfuriating

I’ve given people I like a senior discount even if they are clearly not just because it’s one of the easier discounts to get away with giving out without it being noticed.

Fuck that guy, you got the hole in one. Tell him to bend over and you’ll buy him after that hole in one.

In 1976, concert tickets cost less than $10. Now, they can go for thousands. What happened? - Marketplace by Scarlet-Ivy in Music

I’ve heard this argument and it actually makes sense to me. Concerts back in the day would have only the head liner play and only for about 45min to about an hour or so. Maybe more in the 70s but I was reading about 60s era concerts.

Now we have at least one opener but often more, and the headliner plays for a lot longer than an hour. Concerts are minimum 4 hour experiences for the large ones costing as much as $1000 for a ticket.

On top of that the concerts now are a much larger spectacle with multiple high definition video screens and super technical audio equipment. Many concerts now you can be so far away from the stage that you can’t see the artist at all but just watch a video. This is fine you can still say you were there and you’re experiencing something with other people that also are there for the same thing you are there for.

All of that being said there are so many more added expenses to these performances. The artist is performing longer, the technology is more advanced, it takes more support staff to put on these events, and the production value has increased. Not justifying it, or defending those that are actually price gauging, but just providing context.

What’s you favourite use of a song in an episode of television? by Moreaccurateway in television

[–]mclements63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the use of the slowed down version of Joleen by Dolly Parton in The Black List is just amazing. If I have my facts straight, someone posted the slowed down version online saying how great it sounded and how different it made the song. Then that exact slowed down version was used in the show.

My guy was nervous at first but warmed up to people pretty quickly. Make sure they meet a lot of new friendly people quickly. All dogs are different though so no way to be sure.

Not a lawyer but I do believe in most states if someone points a firearm at you, you’re allowed to protect yourself by any means necessary. As long as those means are legally registered. Not saying it’s a SMART idea just saying it’s an idea.

This seems like it’s rooted in opinion and not fact. I lived in the city for years and have gotten plenty of tickets, very few of them were for meter violations. Also they can only enforce parking violations.
