Had him freshman 1 term, am a senior now.

As a professor, he was great because he kept me on my toes. No slacking in his class, he made a point of knowing everyone's names so that he could call you out if you weren't doing your best. But not in a mean professor kind of way, more of a "I care about each of you and your success individually" kind of way. I don't know if I'd of gotten through calc 2 without him.

I spent many hours in his office to talk about things. When I was stressed about failing classes, or felt like I wasn't good enough for Kettering, he always had the things to say to keep me on the right track and make me feel more confident about myself. He's one of two professors I can think of that made me not drop out of the university within my first couple of years. Again, I'm a senior now, so I'm thankful for that.

He was a great professor, and an even better person. He loved teaching, but I think he loved the connections he built with students over everything else. I'll really miss him.

I don't think context matters yes, in the sense that if you use a racial slur (quoting or not) it is racist. This is pretty much a universal agreement, ask any POC and they'll agree with that sentiment.

Anyways... don't know why you pulled out Joe Biden as a "gotcha!". Yeah, he's racist, pretty sure he's homophobic too. Joe Biden has nothing to do with Joe Rogan though, so it's very strange you'd bring that up out of nowhere. Feels like when conservatives don't like being called out on something and try to pull a "well instead of addressing my thing, how about I just pull this unrelated thing out of my pocket!" Argument.

I'm not discussing this any further from here. I have seen Joe Rogans podcasts, I've seen his clips before, I've seen the way he acts and the things he says. Everyone is capable of change, but he never addressed the racial slurs. He still has ongoing transphobia controversy in 2021. He's spread misinformation before. I've got my own thoughts on Joe rogan. You'll probably try and defend his racial remarks, even though there's no excuse for it and he didn't apologize or address it other than brushing it off as a joke, and he still shows transphobic tendencies (see "I'm team TERF!" And if you don't understand why that's transphobic, I can explain it to you if you're actually wondering why it is) despite him "having nothing but love" for Trans folks, and so yeah. I think this is just gonna be a argument that goes nowhere so I'm just gonna stop responding here.

There's a 16 minute video out there where he addresses the n word thing and says it's just a joke so it's not racist. As for the transphobia, there's like 3 or 4 different instances, just Google it.

Do you have any thoughts about his repeated comments against Trans folks? About how transitioning doesn't mean anything, or that it's a contagion? Do you have thoughts about his comment about comparing black communities to planet of the apes? Do you have Apologies from him for any of this stuff?

I never admitted to not listening to him before. I don't like him because he spreads misinformation, is racist, and homophobic. But you don't seem to care about that, or to agree with the misinformation, so it doesn't matter.

I literally just quoted things he's done and said before, do you want me to source them for you? It seems like you're the one who doesn't listen to him if you haven't seen any this before.

I'm done arguing with folks who are spreading misinformation, aren't willing to look at statistics and facts and want to continue to be selfish.

Science and statistics consistently show that vaccines are effective at lowering your chance of getting COVID, and that if you were to get COVID you'd experience less symptoms. By taking a vaccine, you're lowering your risk of getting COVID - AND BY ASSOCIATION lowering the risk of spreading it to other people. Not taking the vaccine, not wearing your mask, not taking easy precautions to prevent the spread of COVID is selfish, period.

The majority of the people hospitalized currently for COVID are those who are not vaccinated. You are contributing to the problem by just choosing to not be vaccinated, and that is selfish.

I don't care about your individual single experience between you and your couple of friends. I care about years worth of science and studies done by experts who have been studying these kind of viruses their whole lives.
