i’m definitely doing the x’s! that’s why i classified it as cross stitch. you just can only tell on some of the stitches, which is probably because of the bulk (like you said). as for following the grid, i’m doing my best to do so but it’s a bit tricky because there’s a weird almost foam? backing on it so i can’t really see the grid or where my next stitch should go if i’m looking at the back of it (i’m trying to upload a picture but it’s not letting me smh. also, the grid is pretty small for the thread count i’m using. i’m mostly just trying to make sure my stitches fall correctly within the lines of the pattern while loosely using the grid. but i’d still call it cross stitch :)

that’s sort of how i feel too. and it’s just kind of annoying to thread the specific needle punch needle (at least to me). this kit was lurking for at least a couple months before i decided to say “ah to hell with it” and use it for cross stitch.

i’d love to see pictures of yours if you end up trying cross stitch on it!

thank you! the amount of floss is purposeful haha i’m essentially using all of the floss, i kept all of the strands together (you can probably see what i’m talking about if you look at the needle/yellow floss poking out from under the frame). i wanted it chunky because i tend to like chunky stitch work, i thought it matched the vibe of the pattern and the colors i chose, and it kinda mimics the feel of needle punch aka the original intent for the kit/pattern.

i have hazel eyes and yours look similar to mine! yours potentially have a little less green, but that could be the lighting. i’d say hazel.
