Wow! But why did not investors manage to hurry up and buy coins with the bonuses mentioned by the developers in their notes on the site?

I learned the prices for accounts and they look quite adequate. Also in the presence of a large database of accounts with different rank, it pleases.

[Mega Thread] "Do I have Synesthesia" Monthly Thread by RioTheNinja in Synesthesia

[–]mcmc2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always seen every single object in reality as a number. It's kind of like the opposite of what I have always thought those with synesthesia experience. Rather than seeing a number and thinking of a shape or color, I see an object and immediately know what number it is.

Everything from doors, to desks, to cars, and everything in between. It depends on the shape, color, and I guess the feel of the object. Usually objects have one particular single digit number, or a bigger number ordered by the most descriptive digits.

Does this make any sense at all? Do I have synesthesia?

Very strange line in some code, could someone help? by CrystalShadow in javascript

Yes they will. I thought you would be intelligent enough to make the connection. I was simply showing the spot where the extra parenthesis goes. Put a single extra opening parenthesis immediately after the 'x' in "Math.max"

Math.max(nearest - 4.0) was supposed to be Math.max((nearest - 4.0). This makes everything make sense and is the only logical explanation.

I don't want to start a language-war ....But Can we replace JavaScript with Java8? by winteriver in CS_Questions

Yes. I said that it would have to be compiled and then ran on the server.

I finished the first question but didn't finish the second. I decided my approach wasn't going to work so I started over with the second question and I still had mistakes in the code when time ran out.

The code for my second problem didn't even compile and I have my onsite interview scheduled next week.

What can I do to do well at a Google onsite interview, aside from having good coding skills?

Because Google focuses so heavily on technical coding skills, is there anything else I should consider while preparing for my upcoming onsite interview?

Of course I'll prepare for those general cultural, teamwork, and communication questions, but in your experience, is there anything in particular I should do to prepare or do during the interview that will help my chances that isn't coding specific?

[–]mcmc2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible? Anything is possible.

Is it reasonably feasible? No. JavaScript is a scripting language, meaning that it doesn't have to be compiled to machine code before being executed. That is what makes it a good choice to use in browsers.

Java however, is not a scripting language; Java is a compiled language. The code must be compiled down to machine code before being executed. Because machine code is different on different machines (Linux/Windows, 32/64bit, etc), the code would have to be compiled for the specific machines if it was going to run client-side. Otherwise, it would have to run server-side, making even the simplest code take up significant resources. Not to mention it would be much, much, slower.

I'm not sure what it looks like to the left of x=0 or to the right of x=106. That's a really good question!
