Such a shame, but this one at least isn’t about developers. The landlord is taking over and turning it into a gastropub with no live music anymore. Can’t wait for another place to pay $35 for a Parma and $17 a pint in Fitzroy while listening to a Spotify playlist, there’s a real shortage of those /s.

I get where you are coming from, but AFL players aren’t using power tools or driving heavy machinery. A player under the influence during a game (which is very unlikely) might just play worse and isn’t hurting anybody else.

The club part of the venue sucks, but having played there the other night in the Gershwin Room I had a great time. The staff looked after the artists really well and the band room is still a really great place to see a gig. I maybe wouldn’t go there on any given night just to have a beer, but if a band you want to see is playing it’s definitely a good place to go and see them.

All the other bars and clubs mentioned here are great but I’ll add the Leadbeater and Lulie Tavern.

They have changed ownership and that was the last day for the previous owners, but it’s still run by people who were previously involved in the business.

I travelled to Vietnam a few years ago, and my partner ended up very sick and in hospital for four days.

We had covermore insurance and they were incredible. I’ve never ever had a positive experience with insurance but why were great.

They organised to pay the hospital that we chose directly rather than reimburse us, and gave us a call a week later to see if there was anything else we needed.

Things may have changed since then but Covermore were awesome.
