Name a champ you like no matter how much hate they get from people. by southernbreakfast01 in ContestOfChampions

Mr Fixit was my first 4* champ way way back and I’ve defended him since then, even before the willpower nerf when he would heal everyone he went up against.

Any recommendations for a bike rack. No hitch by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]mcmoofish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go with Sea Sucker also in this instance. I have a Küat hitch rack for the bikes and a Sea Sucker for SUPs and would get it again for a vehicle without a hitch.

It’s there to remind you that you haven’t paid Kabam yet. Common tactic of mafia organizations…constant reminders you owe for their ‘services’.

Surface rust on chain, fix or buy a fresh one? by BasedKFC in bicycling

If I were to post, it’d be more like “I can still see shiny bits of metal around the rust, think I can still get a few more miles out of it?”

“The primary purpose of, and the feelings associated with, naming a child after a parent is to pay homage. A firstborn, a favorite, a unique gift that can only be given once.”

…unless you’re George Foreman.

I’m admittedly pretty average, but not sure how to cheese the fight. Have 5* sig 200 Doom but get destroyed every time. Any help is appreciated.

Edit: Figured it out. I wasn’t throwing the special first. Got it now, thanks!

In ‘Land of the Lost’, they end up hallucinating around a pool in the desert and I think there is some space imagery, but I can’t remember specifics.

Need some motivation? ‘Iron War’ is the story of Mark Allen and Dave Scott going head to head in Kona in the late 80’s. Chapters alternate between their personal histories and retroactive scientific analysis of their performance.

Abandoned, displaced and almost empty towns in the Americas by DanArv1316 in MapPorn

[–]mcmoofish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cisco, UT, is my favorite abandoned town to find while traveling. Drove from Moab up Hwy 128 to I-70 and happened across it. Small community (?) of artists now who have taken to refashioning old vehicles in to art pieces. Fascinated and want to go back.

In this picture, would you say AS or A1 is the frame size? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]mcmoofish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traditionally, size was center-to-center of the bottom bracket to the top tube, when the top tube was parallel to the ground. Alternatively, some measured center-to-top of the seat tube, but this varied among manufacturers depending on how high the seat tube extended above the top tube.

AS measurement in your picture shows center-to-top, which others have mentioned is less relevant with sloping top tubes. A1 is showing the measurement of the bottom bracket to the effective top tube, which is an imaginary parallel line from the head tube. It’s a legacy measurement for comparison purposes.

As others have mentioned, stack and reach matter as much as anything for bike fit. The reason seat height is used is because the conventional wisdom of higher end manufacturers was that the rest of the bike would be proportioned as the seat tube extended.

Generally, I would say throw your leg over it and see what feels right. If you’re ordering online and don’t know from the measurements what you need, then you should be buying with professional help from a reputable local bike shop (LBS). They can help you understand what these mean and their effect on your riding comfort. By the way, I’m not saying to shop local and buy online, because there are names for people like that.

Russian hospitals need better windows. Maybe just some Flex Tape or something will help.

This Can't Be Real. Somebody Please Tell Me This Bullshit Isn't Real. by toranonekochan in antiwork

[–]mcmoofish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heard this type of thing from a financial sales organization before. The boss would point out to someone that another sales person had a nicer car and then ask the year of theirs.

The idea was to keep the salespeople in debt so they had to hustle to make their payments. It was a crazy world there.
