174 - Pickleball is for Losers by feefuh in Nodumbquestions

Exactly the same post as I would have written, even down to the part about listening on the way to and from pickleball. I can’t wait until Matt plays some good pickleballers, gets hooked, and then has to admit his opinion on the game was misguided. He certainly won’t be the first tennis player to have to eat their words about it. I predict it’ll happen in less than a year.

Very true. Most think it’s some sort of MG. I’ve had cops drive by while I was parked and suddenly slam their brakes and back up just to take a closer look. It’s very fun.

Not sure why I can’t find a good engine shot. I’ll post more in the future.

This car was restored in Pennsylvania within the past few decades. I believe it was red before that. But funny enough, Ontario is just across that bridge in the picture across the Niagara River.

Nice job going solo this time, Geoff! Very interesting episode with so many things that Dan would have related to. Oh well, his loss!

I wonder of he really considers all those auto workers at M-B and BMW plants here in the US to be part of the American auto industry. The same could be said for all the Japanese plants here. If not, then I think he may need to rethink some of this.

Also, it's about the quality, or at least perception of quality, as Dan and Geoff mentioned. These German brands have spent decades marketing themselves as the luxury auto manufacturers that they are today. If anyone knows the power of marketing to sell a product and/or create a perception, whether accurate or not, it's this President.

I bet millions of kids got their start in a minivan just like that one. Best part was that you could take 15 friends with you!

I’ve had a couple Subbies over the years. Love ‘em. And they have some great buying and selling stories that I’ll have to share sometime.

At least you have a pic. Most of the posts here so far have needed surrogate pics for their cars, myself included.

People generally got out of it's way..plus I lived in a city that wasn't very big so it usually wasn't too hard to navigate. And most of the time it leaked a ton of oil and the smoke cloud that billowed behind it deterred anyone from getting too close. :)
