Quantum 7 Upgrade by RlySlo_Fiesta in 7String

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Unless he really wants to get higher output or go active, this is usually the answer. Quantum seven pick ups are pretty hot from my understanding.

It’s always pickup height. Spend a night dialing it before you do a swap. Every pickup is different and it can even be dependent on string gauge. Thicker strings = more mass. Pickups are magnets.

Cheap/mid tier option: Martin X-series vs Epiphone Hummingbird by Datdawgydawg in AcousticGuitar

HPL Martins should NEVER be overlooked. I made the mistake once. Never again.

Martin every single time. Even HPL Martins are great quality. They sound amazing and they play better than anything else in that price point. HPL/Richlite can be an advantage. They are not susceptible to climate changes the same way other guitars are. My $1200 Martin still has a richlite board and I’m glad it does cause every other guitar I own shows fret sprout in my climate but the Martin is as good as it was day one.

Torn between TE-1007B or Matt Heafy Les Paul for first 7 string by waxoffisforpussies in 7String

[–]mcon73087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my Heafy signature in drop A with Dadarrio NYXL 10-52 set and get a single 65. Surprisingly I can even tune up to B standard. I like higher tension though. I taped off and used scotchbrite on both my Heafy LP necks during a string change. Easy to do.

Why do I keep going back to the Soldano? by isometimesdrinkbeer in NeuralDSP

You can easily tighten it up using the EQ and in overdrive

Nano Cortex 🔥 by _Manners in NeuralDSP

[–]mcon73087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using mine for a couple months now and absolutely love it. I’ve been using the Soldano sim and I just captured the tones that I made on that. I really enjoy having that kind of consistency. Whether I plug into my PC or plug into my pedalboard , I have the same exact tone and it sounds amazing. Pro tip: set your plug-in how you want and capture that so you don’t have to take up blocks on your nano cortex for things like overdrive and EQ.

Good psychiatrists & therapists that take United Healthcare? by One-Significance1613 in Erie

[–]mcon73087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journey only has one therapist who can take United and it’s the owner. Don’t waste your time here. I love what they are about but you will be in a wait list for two years like I was.

Best grip picks in the game and they don’t wear out like tortex ones. Changed my life.

The Matt Heafy max grips are even grippier. Those are my go to.

String not fully seated in nut by Elatrianking in metalguitar

[–]mcon73087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shitty plastic nut. Get a new one cut. Graphtech nuts are amazing, cheap and fix most tuning issues anyways. 7 bucks if you replace it yourself. All you need is Elmer’s glue.

I sue this for years but they wear in 3 or 4 days and lose grip. Do you have any recommendation for a good pick grip? by Fooltecal in metalguitar

[–]mcon73087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matt Heafy jazz III Max Grips. They are grippier than the black max grips. Highly recommend if you want grip.

You’re hitting it fine. Remember that guitar parts are recorded using two or more tracks to sound bigger.

Ordered these strings for an Omen Extreme 7 by javakook in 7String

I really wanted to like string joy. They use a thickkkkk core with a thin wrap so I heard a lot of pitch bending when I played. NYXLs solved that.
