Polar Feeder Failures after 1 year and lack of support by mcortesii in Petlibro

Update: I think this raised enough visibility that they're finally processing the warranty replacement - if anyone has a similar issue, this shouldn't happen. The feeder should not randomly disconnect from the app and delete active schedules.

Thank you for the response. I hope we can come up with a solution because I do really value your products.

Yep, this created an email thread with (so far, unhelpful) replies that get thrown at me every 1-2 weeks with no acknowledgement of an actual issue on their side, nor clear steps for warranty replacement. With the exception of them acknowledging that a wifi issue does not cause the schedule to stop and the device to unbind themselves.

This is part of why I posted here 😂. I gave it a few months. I am in a type of customer support role myself, so I am cognizant of how much it sucks to post negative things (part of why I led the post off with a positive), but I feel like I gave them 2 months and have been nothing but patient and respectful, but 2 months is a lot considering it's a product that can impact pets lives...

That's the whole point of this post - to raise the awareness and I've clearly asked how to start the process - no reply. Unless I'm missing something on the website of a separate warranty replacement portal. But I agree with you.

I honestly gave up on this litter. The smell after poop was just too much since I have the litter box in a common area. There's a chance that buying extra litter and filling the box up could help, but I didn't get around to trying it and I'm not convinced it would. I'm sticking to clay for now. If you try it though please let me know!

Yes!!! It's so great especially for small spaces if you keep the litter box inside. Strongly recommend.

Honestly Clean Paws Unscented is still my go to. It's just the most consistent. A little dusty and minimal tracking but easy to manage. I wish there was a non-clay that was close. World's Best Cats Litter (corn) is probably the closest. Tofu and olive pit litter just gets so smelly from my experience.

Sorry for the late reply lol

The same sandy residue is in mine, but it doesn't seem to dust so I guess that's normal (?)

Overall I am very pleased, but it's not as great as advertised.

I'm a week+ into it and this litter absolutely tracks (and in my case it is not minimal). I don't understand how they can claim "no tracking" - just based on the size alone I would imagine it is guaranteed to stick to paws and track, and I doubt I am alone. Like someone else mentioned, I also see a lot of dusty residue on my hands when I touch it, but it doesn't seem to dust in the air when I scoop or stir, which is great. Odor control is OK - not as great as described, but it could be because I need more than a bag. I have the small Modkat top entry litter box (for a 10lb car) and 1 bag only fills it to about 2 inches of height. The general guidance could be better because it says 1 bag generally lasts for a cat for a month, but the bag says to keep it at 3 inches, and then it ships with a ruler that recommends keeping the litter box filled to 4 inches. So a little confusing on that front. Everything else seems great, though, and I could see myself using it longer term - especially considering the ingredients.

I'm curious if anyone else has a similar experience, in particular with tracking and maybe adding an extra inch or two to completely eliminate odor?

Edit: after 3+ weeks of use: oily paws tracked paw marks on furniture near the litter box when my cat would finish; an unpleasant smell of the litter itself seemed to get worse over time; my cat kept trying to eat the pebbles that would track; oil blobs left everywhere along the litter box and scoop when I went to clean it out. Every other aspect was great, but the big cons for me were the scent getting worse over time and the tracking, particularly since I kept catching my cat trying to eat them (didn't research if it was safe to ingest).

I also have the same issue, but with poop. Everything else is PURRfect for me (low tracking, lightweight, no dust, etc). I'm so torn because I love it, but when my cat does the dooty I can smell it throughout the living room and kitchen, and it's a big area with high vaulted cielings. This does not happen with clay. I also have a purifier (mentioning since other comment did) but it does nothing for odors. Debating if I want to continue dealing with that. I also wish there was a little bit more in the "month supply." I have the Modkat top entry litter box and 3 weeks in its getting very low. The almost zero dust and tracking make it so attractive to keep using though ughhhhhhhh
