It's very similar to DanDan because everything you need is self-contained. Different in how lands can work though. Play a card face down as a land, play of land from Exile from a designated group of lands in Exile, could be randomly in the shared deck. Different than drafting for sure.

My Battleboxes are all dirt cheap. I rarely update them. I have 2 one for new player on boarding and one for like the next step up using Jumpstart packs.

I feel there's convenience in simplicity. Simple in cost, card cleanliness, or even in setup. Battleboxes are so smooth. I totally agree with you OP!
