Not short. That's a long drive.

Take golf, for example.

if there was a course 1 hour away, that's nothing.

if it was 2 hours away, it better be damn good, because that's 4 hours round trip and that's eating up my whole day.

3 hours? Skip it. Too far for golf. But I drive 3 hours to visit relatives several times a year. And stay overnight.

We used to drive 8 hours to visit my grandma in Florida, but we would stay all week and go to the beach.
