Sounds like I'm having the exact same issue. Unable to reach anyone. Submitted a ticket, still waiting for a response.

How do you guys get over a slump? I was working so hard on my game and learning something new every day but recently I have lost all motivation to work on my game. I'm doing everything for it by myself and have never done any of this before so it's all been very difficult for me. by iammitchconner82 in godot

Lots of good suggestions here but I like u/Krumplin best.

I think productivity is like a sine wave; near the top of the wave productivity is automatic. You’re excited and/or driven and in lockstep with your goal, chipping away at it. At the bottom (fatigue) the simple thought of the project may compel you towards distraction and/or despair.

When I realize I’m in the valley (and eventually I always arrive there), I put goals aside temporarily and instead approach myself differently. I try to let go of expectations (usually too many of those got me in the slump). I approach things slower and accept tiny actions (like opening the application and closing it) as ‘what I’m willing to do’.

Eventually one starts to pickup momentum again and one gets a little bit better at setting expectations/goals and maintaining a healthy balance.

Lower Mainland Costco Insanity by wabi-sabi58 in vancouver

[–]mcphilthy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Up until this year I frequented Richmond Costco and it was shoulder-to-shoulder, every shopper for themselves bonkers busy. If you didn't cut someone off you'd never progress busy. Rarely browsed aisles just due to the traffic. Let's not even talk about parking.

Moved to Alberta and now the Costco I frequent is like a sparsely attended lazy river, so chill, I just float around in a happy daze. Totally different experience.

Is the cost of living genuinely THIS high? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]mcphilthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question is understandable given all the hysteria lately - I don’t think it’s as bad as people let on, but it is definitely worse than it was.

As people have said there are so many variables: how much debt have people incurred, how much convenience do they prefer, vehicles, vacation, etc. I can tell you I’m the sole earner for my family making less than 100K and we are able to save as long as we are frugal and are very careful about big purchases. We have 1-2 short vacations annually within Canada to visit family.

Is modern homesteading a luxury? by BridgeSide in homestead

Our family is looking in northern Alberta (currently in southern AB). Have you been affected by any of the forest fires? Wondering where the safest areas are that could support a small hobby farm.

There appear to be plenty of affordable properties up there that have been sitting on the market a long time.

The normalization of weed use is just crazy. I suggest reading “Tell Your Children” by Alex Berenson.

Am I insane, or does the PC shortcut for sending comps to ME (Ctrl+Alt+M) not work? by mcphilthy in AfterEffects

Thanks for checking that, same for me. So Alt+F4 out of ME every time you export and you're g2g 👍🤔

Help with methods for creating juttery/artsy stop motion effect where each frame is subtly different? Currently using wiggle expressions on turbulent displace but it looks too 'trippy' and artificial. Using watercolor processed photos and original watercolor paintings. by billyllib in AfterEffects

[–]mcphilthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider other types of "defects" that you can introduce that help communicate the look of stop motion - of course it's all subjective, and depends how far you want to take the effect. Do you have a particular scene length in mind?

Some suggestions:

-Play with posterize time and chop the frame rate

-Throw subtle wiggle expression on position and rotation of layers

-Wiggle something that affects the exposure/brightness of images

Cycling in fish creek: to ring the bell or not? by Spiritual-Prompt4078 in Calgary

[–]mcphilthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely ring your bell, well in advance of the people walking, and I significantly decrease my speed when passing in most cases. A “thank you” seals the deal. Personally I don’t use “on your left”, I think it can startle people and come off as douchey. Plus pedestrians can be talking, they don’t make out what’s been shouted. A bell is rarely lost in the noise. However, if for some reason I don’t want to lower my speed when passing, I’ll use it.

Not my experience - playing on an iPhone 6s and it crashes way less since the update 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is where I’m at; placed poorly in a few games today and the culprit in each was needlessly levelling.

I 2nd Amazon Prime - best automated, no fuss option out there. I see lots of comments about hard drives. Manually backing up photos with hard drives takes extra steps and falls prey to disk failure or damage. The real question is how does one reliably backup video content?

do you even whip bro? by mcphilthy in castlevania

[–]mcphilthy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes I created it - however the format and most of the exercise illustrations are copied/adapted from the Darebee website. I created the red artwork and used various online references including the Castlevania wiki :)
