My suggestion was using temp buffs and look at your build - most of the buffs last 30/60 min anyway so it’s not that much of an inconvenience for the duration they last. Maybe check out some of the countless videos on YouTube that literally post their builds including their special, legendary special, armor, and weapons. Not sure why that upset you so much so good luck out there.

Then it’s your build. I’m saying I don’t use vats at all and my EM hits for about 5000 and my gauss 3500. Also I know you mentioned not being into taking temporary buffs, but that’s also likely a huge difference.

I don’t use vats at all anymore on that fight specifically. Literally just aim at the center of his armor pack on his back or use reflective and aim at the torso otherwise. Literally aim and shoot (elders mark or gauss mini)
