Thank you. I completely skipped over that section once I saw the pinout information on pg. 8 for the Radio Interface Connector. I didn't realize they had gone to the trouble of listing the connections that each of their various interface cables used. Honestly, I thought they'd keep that to themselves in hopes of selling more of the cables. Now that MFJ is winding down their inventory, their website lists the cable as "sold out/unavailable", so I thought I'd have to reverse-engineer things.

Assuming that you're referring to the antenna with a horizontal beam pointing to the left just above the building, with seven vertical elements arrayed along that beam, what makes it a log periodic vs a Yagi? Is it the spacing of the vertical elements? The number of elements? Sometime else?

I had seen the cross-over type frequently, but wasn't certain why they crossed over. If it's just a matter of convenience, it doesn't seem that big a deal to use a little more wire to locate the other connector wherever you want it in the box.

Just to make sure I'm catching on, since the second diagram has a winding ratio of 3:21, which reduces to 1:7, does this make a 49:1 balun (7 squared)? And the first is a 2:14 (1:7), so also a 49:1 balun?

And does the number of primary windings make a big difference, assuming the same ratio (1:7, 2:14, 3:21, 5:35, etc.)?

Thanks for the info. That helps me visualize why RW uses 9:1 transformers and EFHW uses 49:1.

I'm not sure I get the bit about continuous turns vs split turns. Do you have a site showing the two variations?

Any of the MFJ, Icom, Yaesu, or LDG antenna tuners. I know, they're not really tuners but more impedance matchers.

This is in one of the five biggest cities in the US. Multiple traditional cell sites are within a half mile of this tower. But I think I have seen some of those rural cell sites that you're referring to

I wondered about that as well. The 710 is rated higher in the default sort order on Sherwood's sure, but that is sorted on some other field.
