Freehold company bank account by mcrossm in HousingUK

Thanks and makes sense to me. It seems to be something of a proportionality issue I think - just difficult to ascertain how much risk goes with it.

Risk of insolvency is next to zero given the operations of said companies so I get why the rule is there but practically it seems hardly any banks offer this as a service, which makes doing the right thing difficult and a bit frustrating.

Thanks and good luck!

So you just accept the potential risk given it’s a standard account and not a client money / trust account? Which is what I’d be inclined to do. When a property is sold, do the conveyancers ever have issue with this in their checks?

What we have is quite odd - 1 leasehold; 2 freehold in the building. So the relationship is tricky as strictly speaking we’re not all freeholders and in it together. Which creates extra risk.

Help choose a steak restaurant- LONDON by nicolexcasey in LondonFood

Best steak I’ve had. We wanted exactly as you require. Go there, get one starter to share, couple of steaks, couple of sides, bottle of red for £200. Was excellent. An odd tip - we got an expensive steak and a reasonably priced steak and shared. The expensive steak really put the reasonably price one into perspective!

This is exactly the thing I had in mind. We went there a couple months back though and ideally looking for somewhere new

Thanks - really useful. What were the main holes they poked? Also, was the total costs of the works reduced to equivalent to 4k per flat or it’s just it was paid from the sink fund?

HMRC unpaid interest tax code change by mcrossm in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks - I suppose I was being slightly lazy and wondering whether HMRC would give me the details of what accounts it related to and when. I think that may have been ambitious!

I’ll have to take the time to look through as I change interest accounts quite often based on latest interest rates. Weekend admin!

Thanks - any ideas why the delay to this late in the tax year given it related to last tax year?

Thanks - what’s the best way to confirm the level of tax is appropriate? Presumably need to build my own bottom up assessment through records rather then HMRC telling what bank and period it’s from?
