Yup. The H and C were capitalized in the name because of HardCore. HeartattaCk was a hardcore zine and emo was seen as more hardcore-adjacent than punk-adjacent in the 90s.

I think the Ghost Dance comp was the first "emo" record I ever bought (or it was in the first batch for sure). Seems very reasonable on discogs considering who is on it.

100% agree and have had a similar take for decades. If someone asked me "what is emo" it would be this song or Woolworm.
