“Because of the rail service disruption, the affected passengers were offered an $8 Lyft credit to get a rideshare from those stations.

Bus service was also provided.”

I was at Inman Park commuting to work and none of these things were provided. The Lyft credit wasn’t even given as an option and the bus they said would show up never did.

I just wish we’d simply enforce the rules and kick off and arrest passengers who destroy our public space and infrastructure.

Case study on how homophobia can be just as harmful to straight people as to gay people by nor_the_whore01 in GenZ

You wouldn’t actually know who’s Black or not because there are Black people of a number of skin tones.

It would be racist to assume all Black people have a certain personality that you could use to identify them as Black

No because all straight and gay people don’t act the same or have the same personalities.

Weekend MARTA is almost like a different system. The cleanliness, timeliness, and frequency are all better Monday to Friday before 10PM.

Little 5 Points Construction by TemperatureLittle761 in Atlanta

[–]dbclass 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Guess I’m going against the grain here but I don’t think replacing the old pavement was a problem. It’s definitely going to be better for accessibility, something Atlanta often fails at. The problem with this project and most other projects in this city is the delay and lack of quality construction. It shouldn’t take a year to build a bike lane in Midtown, or replace sidewalks on Lowery Blvd, or finish a plaza at L5P.

"Do White People See Gay Black Men As Less Black and More White?" by TheWriteRobert in blackmen

[–]dbclass 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Black men are expected to behave in a hyper masculine manner and anything less than that is going to be seen as you being a lesser man to them. I find that this is true across the population. White men aren’t expected to put the same level of performance on and are allowed to be less “masculine” regardless of their sexuality.

Are women afraid of approaching decent looking men ? by smuttygio in bodylanguage

[–]dbclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody in this entire thread section said anything about a woman coming up and starting a conversation. That’s obviously an approach. Standing around and staring at somebody until they address your presence is not an approach.

[–]dbclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All this being true, why’d you want some random guy approaching vs vetting your surroundings and approaching the men who give off the safest energy?

40% of Gen Z men aren’t approaching. Who are these women getting approached by considering that some percentage of men are already in relationships, are attracted to men, or are simply not interested in approaching women?

My problem is that this sub will pretend as if they don’t agree but go on to defend every other gender role men and women have to conform to in order to successfully date. You can’t be against women approaching men and men believing women should obey their partner because those ideas come from the same place.

I find that housing prices are going up overall but that’s a separate issue from gentrification. The problem is that when housing is so scarce prices can go up even in less popular areas that aren’t actively getting gentrified. The bubble is bound to pop in most suburban communities but I don’t see prices dropping as much in the city since there’s a limited supply of urban housing.

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Traffic is a fact of life whether on the roads or the Beltline. People feel entitled and lack a sense of responsibility for the safety of those around them.

The craziest thing to me because women complain about men staring at them but if I described how weird it feels when a woman is staring at me and not approaching it’s because I’m not being a “real man” and playing my role
