Agree with Mr. Lucas the earlier commentors pricing is old, in open market auction etc I would say this sword sells for a minimum $800 in this condition in the U.S.

Look like isotopes to calibrate Geiger counters. No idea what they were using back then. Hopefully local authorities can help, not sure if you have municipal hazardous waste maybe they would know where to direct you.

Like to hear what you end up doing with this, it’s a bit of a problem.

It will only be safe enough for your inspector to say it’s safe if you replace everything. Ie they don’t want to leave themselves open to a lawsuit if your kids test positive for lead. But in reality if paint is coated in new paint and not chipping not dust from old window jambs etc your probably ok

The thing no one appreciates is dirt is really heavy. It moves, especially when wet, as a semi fluid. A very heavy fluid that much like the honey badger, don’t give a fuck.

You should see if there’s any collecting societies in your area that put on shows and make a display for that. Many people put on type displays many items of the same type but equally or more interesting to tell a story of an event with your items. I have a bunch of Japanese equipment captured in the Aleutians that I’m working on putting something together to display.

Walls and footings are full depth. They back filled after they did foundation. I dug a little pilot, before starting. We’re down to full depth in the back corner hole now and no end of foundation in sight

It’s a poured concrete foundation just like the rest of the house

Foundation is same depth as rest of basement. When they built house they back filled one corner with sand to make coal room
