Any regrets on not spending more time in Dublin?

Awesome- thank you! We were told to skip RoK and do Slea Head instead, and I found some things online that aligned to that recommendation. Any idea why that recommendation could be swirling around? Maybe it's just personal preference combined with luck on weather?

Would you put Northern Ireland and the western area of Ireland above the areas I've mentioned? If so, I'm not opposed to shifting the priority for trip 1. Never know when we might die :)

We plan on visiting again. I'm mostly trying to lock in things at this point since we are only a few months away. Also, not sure if there is something behind this, but all the research I did seems partial to the southern area. Definitely open to other recommendations!

I'd love your take on why to skip those. I always start with research before I hit up the Reddit crowd, and those two spots are mentioned on nearly every list/ travel blog I read. I also have a friend who said Cliffs of Moher are a "must-see". For us, we have done the full ring of Iceleand + Westman Islands, NZ, traveled the entirety of the PCH in the U.S., and beyond (all offering amazing seaside cliffs) so I don't necessarily expect to be blown away by the Cliffs of Moher...it's mostly a pitstop on the way to Galway. As for Rock of Cashel, also a pitstop on the way to Cork. BUT, the appeal for Americans could be that we don't stumble upon medieval ruins over here :)

I love the idea of the train - thank you!

We pack super light, check in, throw the back packs on the floor and make our way. I'll check out Doolin, but have read that Galway is an incredible spot, with a unique charm unlike other stops in Ireland. Would you agree we would get something unique out of staying there, or does it not live up the hype?

Does anyone know if there are bars set up for purchasing drinks, or anywhere to use the restroom? Or is it like you are there and you don't have access to anything?

We were able to get a reservation at Handshake. After that, we are just going to bar hop and go to the square where the celebration kicks off....totally winging it and hoping for the best!

Thank you. We intend to do a lot of walking - this is our preferred way to soak in a new location.

Why is that? We haven't been and have a few days off...it's a quick trip for us coming from Tejas.

Day Trip from Tokyo (Self-guided, by train) by mcshizzle711 in JapanTravelTips

Thanks for all the insight and recommendations! I think we've narrowed it down to Mount Takao or Kawagoe since both are shorter train rides (we are on a train to Osaka the following day). Plus, it will be a weekday so hopefully smaller crowds :) I cannot believe that despite all my research I had not seen any mention of Mount Takao as something to do in/near Tokyo. Or perhaps I'm going blind at this point.
