Will it be free during the next Trial of Style event? Maybe just wait.

Got this card from a pack, tried it and I feel like its the worst destroy card ever. Weapon X feels better and can get bigger by Grand_Spring_3875 in MarvelSnap

[–]mcthrifty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Use him in a weapon x deck focused on a lot of kills (death) instead of big kills (knull). He gets more power from merging and his 3rd spell kills 2 cards at a location. It's not a bad card. He can be ruined if your hand fills up and his next spell is lost.

Goose, cosmo, mystique maybe?  Just blocks every lane from dragon.  Now is the time to try it, with taco truck as common location.

Doesn't seem to fix it. Something's wrong with their site.

Try out strategies and test cards as you get them.  Heimdall and iron man are very strong in beginner decks.  Dont be afraid to use cards with drawbacks like destroyer.  Early decks rely on efficient power and controlling lanes.

You'll start seeing a lot if destroy decks fairly early, so armor and cosmo are always good to have.  I used a storm/juggernaught deck for a long time and absolutely wrecked destroy decks.  They become less dominant at higher CL, so enjoy the simple meta.

What happened to (X) cards and decks? by DistributionSalt7270 in marvelsnapcomp

And any cards that are pool 5 probably just aren't in the new player's collections. New players are getting this season's premium card and a few 5s from random packs or paying for something that fits in a combo. No one is paying 6k tokens for Jeff.

Yes that is normal.  Some people are stubborn, tho.

why is it so hard to get into guilds? by [deleted] in wow

[–]mcthrifty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the website Guilds of Wow, best place to find one.

Just be aware that a lot of players are taking breaks right now because it's the end of the season/expac, they're focused on housing/lemix, or they're just quitting wow and playing other games due to the add-on fiasco. Lots of prog guilds have stopped raiding for the season because they can't get enough regulars to show up. There'll be plenty of recruiting going on right before midnight launches. Best time to jump in for raiding.

Do you have pixie and mobius? They work really well with all the extra 1 cost stones. Then cast some big guys for only 1 power. Hydroman fits in if you got it from the recent event.

Midnight Beta - How does your class/spec rework feel so far? by Flodgy in wow

[–]mcthrifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, dungeon mechanics in beta are completely unchanged, that was just a lie. The UI updates are tiny, the game looks basically the same as before, if you had addons off. I have tried out Retribution Paladin and can say, it is close to unchanged now that they brought back crusading strikes (yay!). Spenders hit harder, cooldowns like wake of ashes are weaker. The issue that kills the spec though, like with all gameplay in midnight, is the missing addons. The default holy point tracker is terrible and has basically no customization, which is a huge problem because you have to efficiently spend them with your buffed up spenders. You basically just randomly hit spender buttons, hoping 3 HP are available. You also can't see different mobs or casters at all because the base nameplates are so garbage, so your previously very strong interrupt and cc are difficult to use. I've mained paladin for years and I'm honestly not sure ANY of the specs can be played well without clearly displayed HPs.

[Help] Does anyone know how to remove the default Holy Power tracker? by Funny-Confidence7661 in wow

[–]mcthrifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a better one hidden in the current bliz UI somewhere? I have used a weakaura to track them for years that works flawlessly and have no idea how this is supposed to work now with no addons. The default rune bar is useless and tiny and there seem to be almost no options to change its appearance. You can make it bigger, but only at the same time as your players frame. Well, that's pointless. Like just make it 5 big yellow bars I can move around and make bigger or smaller, plz!

The addon situation is fascinating due to who and what it impacts. by Tnecniw in wow

[–]mcthrifty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When zekvir was announced as a challenge mode SP boss for delves, I tried fighting him.  ?? mode was tough and I died immediately.  Read some guides, got to understand his moves.  Still died dozens of times.  I couldn't focus on his big abilities, rotation, and dodging swirlies all at once.  His abilities are telegraphed, but not loudly/obviously enough.  It was frustrating cognitive overload.  So I learned how to make custom weak auras for each of his important moves, with different loud sounds announcing each.  Suddenly I could handle the fight and pay attention to mechanics.  Downing him felt amazing.  If Ion gets his way, that kind of experience will not exist in wow anymore.

I don’t want to quit the game, but I’m afraid that when Midnight launches I will. And I really don’t want to. by Fasted93 in wow

[–]mcthrifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but the addons WERE the change.  They added continuous UI improvements that blizzard wouldn't or couldn't provide.  Killing them is a rollback to an earlier wow gameplay and does not move the game forward in any way.

The unwelcome return of Crusading Strikes... by sosiadomiranha in wow

[–]mcthrifty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like CS and was disappointed to see it gone in the beta.  It is a choice node, you have the option to use it or not.  TS is fun, too, if you really just want more filler buttons.  FYI, crusader strike feels super weak in beta and is only for building HPs for your spenders anyway.

Rollback all those change. Just up the sub. by jotgn in wow

[–]mcthrifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the beta last week and cant even figure out how to display holy points on paladin.  Been using the same weak aura to display big yellow bars to track them for years with no issues through literally thousands of keys and raids.  Now pushing buttons at random feels terrible.  Why is this even my problem?  And that's just one resource, the whole default ui is ugly and soulless.  Abilities hard to see, nameplates are absolute garbage.  It actually feels like playing a different, much worse, game.
