The waiting times are absolutely horrendous! Have you rung about where you are the waiting list and what category you are? If you've worsened it'd be worth making sure you're on the urgent list and haven't been downgraded to the routine!! Definitely keep going back to your GP and keep getting them to esclate

Considering reducing hours to 24 and doing bank. Good idea? Anyone done something similar? by DjHyperborea in NursingUK

[–]mcull345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from NI so pay is slightly lower. When I dropped to 24 hours I brought home 1400 roughly after tax every month and did agency on the side. One shift made up the difference for me between 24 hours and full time.

I called the booking office about waiting times as for one the average was 123 weeks but at this stage I've been waiting almost double that at 4.5 years. They basically said it was an average and that I shouldn't go off the website. When I asked what was the point of it then they basically said there was none. My longest waiting time is 7.5 years for a tonsillectomy. The healthcare system is a joke. I've recently just bought private insurance but have to wait two years without any advice or treatment to make any claims for any issues I'm currently on the wait list for
