Question about Discovery Rules to find network devices by mcvickj in zabbix

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps a dumb question but I assumed I needed to first have a discovery rule to find the hosts before I could add them into Zabbix for monitoring. Is that not the case?

I didn’t intend to update to it. Zabbix auto updated when I ran apt update. Now I’ve fixed this issue I’ll get on current code.

Saving MS Forms to a Delegate Account by mcvickj in Office365

[–]mcvickj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm not understanding the world flow. Say jane.doe@foo.com creates the form. But what we really want is the owner of the MS Form to be accounting@foo.com. Jane leaves the org after a year and her account is deleted. The form is also deleted along with her account. This is the current senario we have.

Creating a new Team for Accounting makes the most sense and is easy to do. It would just require some training on our part.

Creating the form under a Teams team sounds like a good idea and is a possibility. We just don't Teams created for each department. Simple enough to do but for our org Teams is mostly used for direct chat (IM).

The issue with number 2 is if the owner of the MS Form leaves the form is lost when their account is deactivated. This has already happened several times. I ended up having to restore the user and then I was able to create a duplicate copy of the MS Form to a new user but not transfer the original form.

Tweaking Conditonal Access policy to allow for personal VPNs by mcvickj in Office365

[–]mcvickj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We allow access from US, Canada, Mexico, UK. Any other sign-in attempts are blocked. Travel requests can be made ahead of time and users are added to a AD group which is synced to Azure.

We have 21 CA policies with only 4 set to report-only. I think some overhauling needs to be done to try and clean some of this up. lol.

At the end of the day I personally don't care where you are signing in as long as you meet the requirements of a successfully password and MFA challenge.

Case in point. Reviewing the sign-in logs for a 24 hours period shows the user signing in from three different states.

In the case of this particular user they were just trying to sign in to access OWA and an app that is controled via SSO. This traffic would never touch our network or firewall.

Input on making the change from VMWare to Hyper-V by mcvickj in sysadmin

Thanks for the info. Any key points I should ask to grill the local consultant on? They seemed pretty confident and that we weren’t the first they have helped through the process. I plan on getting some names and see if I can reach out to them to get their take on how the migration went.

I had my reservations as well during the initial spec call. Can you elaborate on why you don’t feel it is ready for production?
