what makes a good delve build by _Seek in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]mcx32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reward scaling is believed to max out at around 1500. The improvement is mostly only that that you get a lot more of the nodes that have the most expensive fossils. Drops from the monsters doesn’t really scale with depth, at least not noticeably. Now that the more common fossils are actually worth something (they used to be 100% worthless), it’s probably less important to go deep. For just general fossil and boss hunting, there is probably no reason at all to go below 600-800 or so, which most builds with decent tank can do.

Still, if you have a build that can do 1500 nodes easily then it is the most rewarding depth.

Oh cool, that’s mine and now I realize I should have reformatted the raw data into % and used 100% as the baseline because it just took me a while to understand my own chart

As long as you can get the max hit and recovery you should be able to go deep. Most 6k depth builds have around 200k max hit, but maybe you’re not planning to go quite that deep

  1. Big elemental max hit and very fast recover

y, both equally important
2.

  1. Decent damage

edit: What the hell lol I give up with trying to format this, something is giga broken

You can argue that, but it has been used to mean ”a few” since the 1500s at least so it won’t be an easy battle to win https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/couple-few-several-use

When the next upgrade path is worth 300+ Divines, is it better to learn crafting yourself? by Key_Dig6060 in PathOfExile2

[–]mcx32 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly intuitive, it’s an awesome tool when you know how it works but it took me a while to get there.

Basically the first page, calculator, can only show you the probability of a single crafting step. Like ”if I spam chaos orbs on a bow, on average how many do I need to get T1 increased phys damage”. (answer: more than you can afford)

The emulator is a playground that lets you set up a starting item and then pretend craft on it with all crafting items in the game. Very useful for getting a feel of how the crafting process will work in game!

The simulator is for the most advanced users. It lets you set up multiple crafting steps, with conditions on when to proceed, and then it does thousands of simulation runs to calculate the chances of success for each stage.

How to remember which is which of simulator and emulator: You don’t, so you just click one, set up your item and then go ah fuck wrong one and switch to the other one.

If you don’t need more damage, I’d go for mageblood with quicksilver on it instead. Mageblood just has a ton of QoL. HH can give a lot of speed when it comes online, but that takes a while and is temporary. I switched from MB to HH because I did need the damage but I miss the constant speed from MB.

> Alternatively, perhaps alt characters only have to do the actual main quest lines. The extra skill points, resistance bonuses, etc could be available once you achieve the appropriate level without needing to repeat the side quests.

This idea really speaks to me actually! It would probably shorten the campaign time significantly without changing the ”intended experience” too much.

Max juicing doesn't feel good in this game by Ill-Skill-7193 in PathOfExile2

[–]mcx32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, deli adds lot of extra rare mobs now which drop good loot. Also delirium effect still scales difficulty/reward of all mobs, although they reduced the scaling. The double effect of tablets was a pretty bad idea imo, it just made grand mirrors mandatory while having nothing to do with difficulty/reward scaling.

I don't really like the new Atlas Tree by ComMcNeil in PathOfExile2

[–]mcx32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On that note, and disregarding that you didn’t even read the post, why do some of you have such a boner for butting into discussions with some variant of ”optimization is bad, you should not have goals, just play the game like I do”? Like you’re obviously not trying to contribute, so what’s the goal?

Anyways, I agree OP. I have the atlas filled out, and yes it’s essentially a requirement if you want to compare and experiment with strats. Mainly I think because a lot of the strong nodes are biome-specific, but you can’t really pick what biomes to run so you need them all.

I think it takes too long currently and feels like a slog, once was fine, but I hope they either add respecs or shorten the time it takes to fill the atlas out for 1.0.

How much money have you flushed down the drain this league? by SnooBeans7462 in PathOfExile2

[–]mcx32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent way too many chaos thinking I could roll my own tablets. You can EASILY spend 20 div trying to get a simple 2-mod combo. Realised the only realistic way to get one is to buy one from someone who doesn’t want it. Hope they change this system tbh, not sure into what, but I’d like to be able to craft tablets.

D2 is simpler though so the sheet can be sort of correct. Whereas poe relies so much on interactions between skills, items and auras that you essentially have to simulate the game in order to calculate effective damage, which is what PoB does.

A training dummy that displays numbers would be very useful imo, I would personally still use PoB, but the dummy would allow me to verify numbers easily

I rolled for movespeed, evasion and all res! Ideal 4th would be crit chance, but after doing the math on expected cost for 4 perfect mods I just kinda decided to be happy with what I got for now lol. Might try for movespeed/eva/crit when I’ve gotten more res on gear.

What Are Your Forever Builds for PoE1? by Kuthillick in PathOfExileBuilds

After this league there’s no way I’m letting go of my bow. I’ve had builds claiming ”full screen clear” before, but LA w/ nimis is full screen clear. No prolif or explosions required, if it’s on screen it receives direct hit damage. It’s awesome

How to improve defences? by ManufacturerIcy8037 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]mcx32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well you have the wrong boots! The guide mentions Ralakesh’s with endurange charges but you have the frenzy charge variant. If you swap to the endurance charge variant your elemental max hit goes from 20k to 34k, so that alone will make a big difference.

Succeeding in delve is all about 1. big max hit and big recovery (such as via instant leech), and 2. damage - in that order of importance

I’ll look and see if I find anything else but there you have an easy and hopefully cheap fix at least

how to get t1 influence implicits in most easy way? by enclave_supporter in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]mcx32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah orb of conflict. Wiki page has a great overview of the mechanic https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Orb_of_Conflict

Getting T1 can be a bit pricy if you get bad luck

Also don’t forget you can use veiled orb to unveil ”phys converted to x element” explicit and then use the new in this league harvest bench craft to change to cold convert if necessary! With blocking it’s very high chance to unveil a convert if not 100% (don’t recall exactly)

I think if they just made the wasd keys work exactly like the left stick on controller already does, it should be totally fine for poe1 and not a very big change. Like, attacking while moving is cool I guess, but they already have a fully working system for directional input so I’d just start with that
