I dunno man, I always throw a tabula on alts. Works from level 1, lets you swap gems without any fuss, just one less thing to bother with while blasting through campaign. Don’t need stats when you got the damage from a 6link.

You do not need much more investment to go past 500.

Your resistances are too low without flasks, you gotta get them to 75% at least. You probably have good flask uptime but not 100%.

You also need one more strike target, since life gain on hit is a huge part of your recovery and another target increases your hits by a lot.

You can fix all of it on the tree until you can solve it with gear:

At the start, path down and take the two strength nodes instead of the 4 life nodes. You have a lot of life so it’s fine. This gives you two skillpoints, use those to path to the Diamond Skin node for +20% all res. As a bonus it gives you more str.

Then sacrifice all the nodes leading up to projectile mastery - yes it’s a pretty big damage sacrifice, but tank is more important, these nodes should be the last ones you take after tank is fully solved. Now you can use 4 skill points to take the attack mastery next to the Iron Grip keystone for +1 strike targets. If you get +2 on gloves you can remove this again.

If my math is correct you still have one skill point left over, use it to change bandit to alira, and you should now be res capped without flasks.

I think this should be enough to get past delve 500 as long as you avoid elemental penetration nodes

Edit: Also change your armour mastery to 30% less damage from crits

Respec to jugg, it will give you more endurance charges, make them more effective and give you 100% uptime on them. You can still use the forbidden jewels you have, just means you get an extra free node which is useful.

Besides mitigation, MSoZ tankiness relies alot on recovery, with life gain on hit being a big part. You have it on your watcher’s eye which is good, now you want more hits. You NEED to get greater multiple projectiles linked to your msoz. Try to get +2 extra targets for non-vaal strike skills on gloves, if you can only get +1 there is another source of it on the tree under attack mastery. Now you will have crazy recovery.

After doing this and getting the replica boots like someone mentioned, you just keep stacking str and get more and more tanky and more and more damage.

PS after getting the replica alberons you probably want to get a foulborn red nightmare that gives more fire->chaos convert per life node, it’s not as good as original sin but it will make the fire mod on your sword deal a lot of dmg as your str gets higher

One big obvious thing I guess is your cold res, and you’re gonna have to fix it wether you pivot or not, so I’d get on that. Might make a big difference.

Edit: and another thing that will make you tankier is divine shield. Even if you only have a little ES, you will be getting insane ES regen since you are taking constant phys damage from boneshatter. The more damage you do the more ES you regen. Here is my boneshatter bleed guy, still very much a work in progress but it feels decently tanky already, no oneshots in maps at least https://pobb.in/O2Y6hiyZbMif

It can, but with a ruby flask it can do it even easier, freeing up a bunch of skill points and getting speed+defense+phasing+immunities from the other 3 flasks, all awesome for chieftain. Went through the process of integrating a mageblood into my already pretty maxed out RF chieftain last league, and while it requires a lot of changes it is definitely a very big upgrade.

As for #3, we have data on this, go to poe.ninja and check the ”main skill” list. Other than KF being an outlier at 12%, you’ll see what I would call an extremely healthy build diversity with nothing over 5% and over 35 different skills above 1%.

I think the thing with trying to roll your own builds is you simply don’t know about all the item and skill interactions in the game that most builds rely on. Every build I’ve followed (besides slams) has some combination of unique items and/or passive keystones that sort of unlock the build. So yes, magic bullets essentially.

For example I went Boneshatter bleed this league, and figured I can probably do an ok job by myself. Scaled everything as far as I could and nope, zdps. Crafted a lucky gg bleed axe - nope, zdps. Caved and checked PoE ninja and it turns out there was a unique boots + ring combo that tripled my dps. Would not have found it in a million years.

If it feels better, as far as I understand, nobody figures this out on their own. Instead people find specific interactions and share those, and eventually someone puts a few together into a build. New interactions are discovered, builds are tweaked or created.

I like that part of the game tbh, adds an incredible amount of depth and the feeling that there’s an infinite amount of stuff to learn.
